Received a message today regarding the need to create a safe space to facilitate healthy conversations to help employees deal with their emotions after the election.

Even Bay Area employers know Trump is coming back and are preparing for the post election freakout.

2016 obviously caught people off guard and Bay Area folks were thrilled with the 2020 outcome. Although they would have liked for Covid to last a little longer.

The fact that they're already figuring out how to cope after the election means they don't believe it's going to go their way.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

We had a white lady go absolutely crazy in our office following Trump's first victory. Her peronality completely changed. The morning after he won, I heard her in the breakroom talking to a filipino-American long time coworker and she literally said "I am terrified, but I can't imagine how terrifying this must be for you" (I realize that sounds made up, but it's not...on my mother). Filipina coworker is a Christian family woman and didn't even know how to respond and I honestly couldn't believe what I was hearing.

She went from being a happy, positive, team oriented individual to completely bitter and tough to work with. She got fired several months later, apparently after numerous behavior reports, as no one could get along with her anymore. My first glimpse of TDS, long before that was even a known "thing".

I use skills I learned as a college student at Texas A&M - ignore people who are babbling and not making any sense.

And by using a technique they taught us at the US Army Armor School - bypass pockets of enemy resistance.

That one is hard to do when Bay Area groupthink is in effect because I am the pocket of enemy resistance.

It was really tough to remain silent during 2020-2022 when they were all living in fear and then bragging about how sick they got after the shot and their first 3 boosters.

I've still never missed a day of work from the the virus that stopped the world.

I started a new job with a startup in the Ag industry. Good people, but obvious some of the tech folks are pretty liberal.

HR sent out a message warning about political discussions and how everyone was allowed to take PTO to go vote. First time I've ever seen that in the Ag industry.

During one of Trump rallies a few weeks ago I was watching a livestream on YouTube and in the comments, I saw someone post

"Filipinos for Trump - We don't eat cats"

The galling thing about this crap is the presumptuousness. The assumption here is that the wrong outcome is happening and we must all be somber and work through it. Like Trump winning is something for everyone to be mournful about.

I am a closeted conservative at work. There is one lady who plans to leave the country. She cannot due to family commitments but I fully see her going off the deep end.

The other two outspoken ones will complain a bunch but will all benefit from a stronger economy and nation. If Texas loosens up a bit on the abortion laws they would mostly be normal.
