This is where I fall...deporting EVERYONE who ever came in illegally would actually upend this country in many ways imo...I don't think people have thought this through TBH. Deport those who came in in the last 4-5 years, plus those with serious criminal records??? I am FULLY on board. But I have a coworker whose dad is a great man but came in here illegally probably 5 decades ago. I do not think people realize what deporting ALL illegals would entail. Many people on here are connected with some illegals at least within a few degrees, and don't even know it.

This problem of illegal immigration can be stopped almost immediately and reversed by just setting a list of prioritized actions that begins with deporting all illegal aliens convicted of crimes from misdemeanors to class A felonies with no appeals. Then deport illegal aliens deadbeat dads. Revoke eligibility for child tax credits, EBT/SNAP, housing vouchers for all illegal aliens. Deport illegals who fall behind on student loan payments. Revoke birthright citizenship for children without at least one US citizen parent proven by DNA test. Prosecute employers who employ illegal aliens with a stiff fine for the first offense and impose civil asset forfeiture as punishment for second offense.

Problem solved. That eliminates 95% of the economic incentives that draw illegals to the US. Just be serious and execute a prioritized plan and beautiful things start to happen in many areas of society.

Your friend's father who came here illegally 50 years ago will not have to worry about deportation. He would also not have to worry about a shortage of housing, overcrowded schools, overcrowded jails, and having to compete with a sub-minimum wage labor pool of illegals.
I think you are correct sir!

Trump has recently talked about being open to immigration from highly skilled and educated white collar professionals.

I would agree with you that following our rules and coming back in legally is the most important thing.

The people I feel worse for are the people that worked hard for decades and followed the long legal process to come here legally.

It is not fair to them that others get to cut the line.

I am hoping Latino American, Asian American, and Nigerian American communities vote for Republicans in big numbers because many of them worked hard and waited for decades to come here legally.

The people you think are going to overthrow the military are financial leeches and only exist in this country because Democrats are giving them money. Cut them off. No money or welfare whatsoever. These people are living on the backs of American taxpayers.

So the illegals who do agriculture labor that Americans won't are leeches?

Cut of their welfare benefits and find out. Do they work without welfare or leave? If they leave, the price of produce goes up but it is paid for by the people who eat it rather than through a welfare subsidy for illegals paid for by those who pay federal taxes (and ~45% of eaters are not federal taxpayers).

Just let the market determine how much agriculture costs without illegal immigrant labor. The market will find equilibrium.

I will be the first to admit the hispanics are very hard workers and largely a net positive, but I would rather eliminate our entitlements and force Americans to do those jobs or starve.

The typical democratic default. We need 20 million illegals to pick crops, massa. You sound like Pelosi and Schumer.

I'm old enough to remember these people went home after picking season was over. The people who are here NOW are leeches. We would save billions if we cut off all of their welfare. They are a drain on our balance sheet and society.

Serious question for our farmers - with all of the automation in farm equipment the past 75 years, do we really even need this agricultural program anymore?

There is a difference between Americans vs illegals doing labor and you know it. Illegals cost us more money than they are worth. Everyone knows this. The illegals in hotels and apartments aren't picking any crops.

I grew up in a rural area and "picked crops" of all types. But these family farms aren't hiring illegals. It's corporate agriculture that does that. And they aren't hiring 20 million employees.

They are not leeches but should be part of robust guest worker program with zero path to citizenship for them or their offspring.

Nor grant one the rights of a citizen or the right to become a citizen. Doing physical labor doesn't automatically make one virtuous and especially not if it is allowing employers to pay less than the legislated wages and compensation that citizens would be paid. Doing hard labor isn't atonement for illegally entering the US either.

Good point.

Let's deport everyone who hasn't worked an agriculture job. That way, everyone's happy.

That means we only need to deport like 30.5 million instead of 31 million.

If Trump wins, and Desantis is selected as attorney general, and Stephen Miller is selected to Sec of Homeland Security then there is a chance.

Desantis and Miller do not care about the mainstream media at all. They don't care about the media saying mean things about them. Why do you think Kamala is going after Desantis a few weeks before the election?

Kamala knows that Desantis is a true believer. I am voting for Trump but he is not.

Trump's second term could go down in history as one of the best ever if he selects Desantis for AG.

Given how the Supreme Court has been so slow to respond to the Texas law and letting it sit in the 5th circuit I don't see them being hypocritical and putting a injunction on possible 2nd Trump admin executive actions when they didn't on the Biden/Harris admin.

If President-elect Trump listens to his incoming chief of staff for policy, Stephen Miller, on this instead of the Democrat controlled media then he will be very successful, and Republicans will be very well positioned for future elections.

Silly, we cant do that. They are needed to shut down our economy when they invade Taiwan. See, they make super super cheap equipment of all types that are used for critical infrastructure through out The West. Because it is cheap, our moronic businesses and politicians buy it and put in all our critical infrastructure. Isn't that amazing ??? It was cheap and that was the most important thing when buying equipment !!!

Deport them all. They are all part of the problem. If he is such a great man, he can either help his home country or request to enter legally.

If this isn't a what would Jesus do kind of thing, I don't know what is.

As for deporting them all, why not just make it to where if they weren't born here, even if they served the military to become citizens, they have to go as well?

I mean, if we're going to have an America for Americans, might as well go all in, que no?
Immigrants taking over your country is a Biblical punishment from God.

Yes, I agree. Send them all back.

Edit: I am also for sending the fraudulent "birth righters" back.
Really? Or is it just God allowing the world to take its natural course, good or bad? Immigrants taking over the America is what started this country. I'm all for closing the border and sending back anyone here illegally. What I am unsure about is these arguments that they are taking jobs from Americans. What jobs? I'm not sure these are jobs most Americans are clamoring for and I have a feeling that some employers are going to get hurt if deportations morph into affecting those with temporary work visas.

Mass deportation sounds like a good plan in theory....In theory its never been done at this scale. Blaming God for everything doesn't make sense.
I am refuting the poster's appeal to Jesus as some sort of "gotcha" for allowing immigrants to overrun run the country.

Your assertion that "immigrants" started this country is unequivocally false. This country was built by pioneers and colonists. Immigrants came after this country was built and bled for.

Mass deportations are feasible and necessary. I am not concerned about the employers who benefit from undercutting Americans with foreigners willing to live in slums and work for pennies. Americans have long done hard jobs, but they will not do them for slave wages that immigrants accept while being subsidized with our tax dollars. Further, my concerns with immigration do not consist wholly of economic arguments of which immigrants are a net drain on every metric except GDP.

So you think Americans will take the jobs immigrants are doing so long as they're paid more? And if so, you do see that pretty much everything you pay for will go up in price, right?
Yes, contrary to popular belief, Americans want to work. Employers will be forced to either pay a fair wage, innovate/automate, or fail.

Any minor price increases would be offset by no longer subsidizing the immigrant population with our tax $
Good luck finding 4-6 men with farm and ranch skills willing to live in a farmhouse together for 10 months at a whack in BFE. A short drive down my road, and I can find exactly that. That ranch owner is a stickler for the rules, and wouldn't even let one of them help me for a day. One thing we need is a streamlined green card program that doesn't require months of government red tape and stupid costs.

I'm still astonished that anyone thinks we're ever going to deport tens of millions of people. Or even a serious part of that number. I think that'll happen around the same time our national debt gets back to 0. As soon as the next Dem is elected they'll all come back in anyway.
I don't believe anyone thinks that. We'd have to apprehend and deport 6800 per day for 4 years to hit the 10 million number. I'd be happy with the criminals, gangsters, and multi-time convicted illegal crossers for a good start. I suspect there will be a bunch of self deportations coming up, especially as freebies dry up. People are getting sick of it as they learn the "newcomers" are getting free everything with no end in sight.

Nothing wrong with issuing seasonal work permits for agriculture.

If we do that then geographic birth citizenship needs to be tossed out. FIRST.

It does the country no good to have a child of illegals obtain citizenship when they have ZERO ties to the country other than the fact that mom hopped the border and pushed it out on the right side of the Rio grande

And it has to be a situation where the employer is on the hook if the employee stays on longer than his temporary work permit and continues working.

The biggest issue is that tech and other industries that absolutely do NOT need these permits keep trying to swing these kinds of permits over to THEIR industries.

And that drives down wages in tech.

This is the USA, most powerful nation in the world. Getting rid of the crime ridden illegals will also sweep up hard working illegals. Do not worry about losing hard workers because they will continue to survive and prosper working hard - where ever. This loss will be a little hiccup easily overcome by the USA.

Yeah, that ranch owner is undercutting Americans so he can import a half dozen slave labor immigrants. **** that guy and you for supporting him.

I support Americans, not foreign interlopers here to steal our birthright that my ancestors have spilt blood in every war this country has ever fought in to achieve. We are not an economic zone for millions of migrants to destroy so business owners can save a couple of $ importing the world's genetic refuse.
