People have no idea how bad it is on a national level. I had someone float 20-30k dead to me and its not sounding unlikely with reports coming out of the region. https://t.co/h3gN3vakFq

XVIII Airborne Corps is located on Fort Bragg (I refuse to call it by that other woke name), a mere 268 miles from Asheville and the worst flooding areas of this Biblical-level tragedy.
The Corps' capabilities include:
-Extensive medium and heavy lift rotary wing aircraft.
-A theater sustainment command with incredible capabilities for delivery of food, potable water, fuel and construction materials.
-A medical brigade with Level III surgical capabilities.
-An engineer brigade with robust heavy construction assets.
-A military police brigade that can provide traffic control and assist local LE.
-An Airborne Infantry division that has routinely supported disaster relief in years past.
-A world-class command, control and communications HQ capability to make it all work.
NONE OF THAT has been ordered to assist civil authorities? NONE OF IT??????
Fort Bragg has routinely supported domestic disaster relief for DECADESKatrina, Homestead, you name it. Hell, I myself have a Humanitarian Service Medal for support to Hurricane Fran relief out of Bragg.
Now we can't do anything for an epic disaster in the SAME FREAKING STATE?
WTF, over?
This goes beyond mere negligence. It must be malicious. Perhaps Kamala and Joe don't want NC's rural GOP counties to be able to vote on November 5th?
This is an abomination, and one of the worst derelictions of Presidential duties in US history.

And I was like, no, no. I have people that I just pulled out of a mountain that are living out in the hills, and there's not a place for me to put them because we have federal employees that are staying in the hotel?"

The way FEMA appears to be behaving reminds of one of those SHTF EMP book series that I've read (I wish I could remember which one). Now fema is creating a misinformation page.

On the newly formed page, the agency asks the public to find and share information from trusted sources and discourage others from sharing information from unverified ones. It also seeks to dispel rumors as the search for storm victims continues across multiple states, and authorities contend with blocked roads and power outages.

Among the misinformation FEMA highlights is a claim that the agency does not have enough money to provide disaster assistance.
The agency says it does.

THEY DON'T HAVE INTERNET.
How do people know this location exists?
"That would be the news media's job."
THEY DON'T HAVE TVs.
"They sit in their cars to charge their phones and listen to the radio."
YOU MEAN THE CARS THAT WERE WASHED INTO THE RIVER?
"We actually go door to door."
When will that start?
"That's way above my head. Do you want to talk to my crew lead?"
The crew lead: "We don't necessarily go door to door."
These people don't need your red tape, FEMA. Get out of their way and let Americans be Americans.

Already did it once, which is one reason why we have an escort now. FEMA has zero jurisdiction.
Trust me. They’re not going to win this one.
