Debates helped Trump greatly in 2016. Primaries and general. He bullied the field and had great one liners and no one knew how to combat it.

He got drunk off his own success and turned his debate style into old man yells at cloud. And opponents finally learned how to combat him. Ignore the taunts and bait him into making unhinged comments or showing small man syndrome.

You can screech about unfair debate conditions and of course they are. But he is ill equipped to fight them. That is the truth. I'd wager most posters on this board would do a better job than Trump did in the 2020 debates or last week.

Maybe the spineless ones but I'd like to think anybody with a pair of balls might become a bit miffed when someone claims they side with neo-Nazis, want to be a dictator, and will cause a bloodbath if they don't win. All extremely false claims and Trump responded in kind and rightfully so.

I'd take that bet. Very few people know anything about debating. And many hate public speaking. So to say most random TexAgs posters would do better ... again, I'd take that bet quickly.

I don't see how another debate could possibly hurt him at this point. He's going to lose anyway. Anything he says that is slightly unhinged will be blown out of proportion by the media anyway BUT his last performance was so pathetic, he's going to get crushed bigly. Might as well go down swinging rather than hiding out, afraid to take on Kamala. Media will just call him a coward. Who'd want a coward as a potus. Blah blah blah.

Trump got baited by things coming a from a mile away and didn't notice what they were doing. Would have been very very easy to combat.
