Once again his morality is not a problem for me personally it just cracks me up that the party that is trying to legislate morality picks this guy as their spokesperson. If you can't see the hypocrisy in that I don't know what to tell you.
The term you're at a loss for is "The lesser of two evils"
Too many years, it's been the "The evil of two lessers"...

That's been my experience for many decisions as an adult. It is what it is.

I think we need to accept the fact that Trump is not going to win. Harris is up in all of the polls, she's starting to gather huge crowds, and the MSM is doing everything in its power to push her across. Trump simply cannot win another general election. He is entirely too hated. Plus, he just refuses to change. He won't listen to advisors, won't prepare for debates, won't shut the **** up about stuff that doesn't matter, and continues to step on his own dick. Harris has to be the weakest presidential candidate of all time, and has a record of absolute patheticness…and is still going to win.

But instead of accepting that, we are putting our fingers in our ears and saying "nuh-uh", "polls are rigged and fake" or "lol, just wait till Harris implodes at the debates!" None of that is going to happen. It's entirely wishful thinking. The one thing the right is not doing however, is forcing Trump to change by NOT showing up at his stupid rallies or ending campaign contributions until he changes.

I honestly cannot fathom how he ****ed this up. He survived an assassination attempt and ended Biden's political career…only to lose to the most unqualified, idiotic, vapid excuse for a candidate imaginable.

Republicans are completely outmatched and will continue to lose in perpetuity. The left is sooooooooooo much better at politics than we are, and when you add in the MSM, Hollywood, illegals, the courts, etc., it ends up being too much.

If America survives this next four years, Republicans are going to have to do something dramatic to stay relevant. Populism didn't work, true conservatism (DeSantis) was rejected for more carnival barking, and it's only getting more bleak.

I don't know what the answer is, but this ain't it. There is zero excuse for losing this election. Yet here we are.
End universal suffrage or the masses will vote us into socialism and then communism. Letting every idiot vote was the real issue. They outnumber us. It is just math at this point.
That darned Constitution gets in the way every time. Exactly what would be your requirements to vote?
The original constitution did not provide for universal suffrage, so apparently it does not get in the way enough. The founders, who were infinitely smarter than you or I will ever be, knew you couldn't allow people without skin in the game to vote because you would end up exactly where we are right now.

To vote in federal elections? You must be a net federal income tax payer and not received Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, or the like within 5 years.
By God, they knew how to keep those women and ******* in their place! [\spits, wipes mouth on sleeve]

The idea that income should have any bearing on voting and representation is reprehensible on any level, and the concept that any true freedom loving person would even suggest it is hypocritical, at best. Lord help those poor people who get laid off or had some sort accident and had low income this year, in your world they couldn't even vote to change the ****show they're in.

So instead we get the tyranny of the unwashed masses that are entirely insulated from federal income taxes and put the entire financial burden on the very top earners that are too small of a voting block to stop it.

Your BS of acting like you are morally superior to our founders is ridiculous. You aren't even in the same realm as they were intellectually.

It is not surprising that a career government bureaucrat would take that position. It's easy to do when you have never produced anything during your career.
And there it is!!!! Somehow the "career government bureaucrat" works its way in here. Classic……when you're showing your true colors and can't justify a completely bankrupt position that goes against the very heart of our constitution and country, use that as some sort of insult to someone who has voted 99% Republican his whole life. By the way, I've had multiple jobs and side jobs in my life including the consulting I'm doing now, so run along with your weak attempt at a "gotcha".

Changing your user name didn't change who you are or the asinine concept of disenfranchising a goodly chunk of the American population because you have more money.

The idea of a representative republic and a pure democracy has been an issue with "democracy" since the beginning.

It was discussed in Plato's "the republic."

While I don't support the idea that there should be limited voting rights, there are benefits (along with some cons) to limiting voting to those who have more skin in the game.

Yes sir. I have no problem with people who are religious, it's just not for me personally. I do have a problem when people pick and choose what parts of the scripture they deem are important and use it to legislate others in a country that was founded on religious freedom.

These threads always surprise me. Trump is going to smoke Kamala for the same reason he smoked Hilary. Hilary thought she'd get all of Obama's voters, except very few people made the connection between a 2-time President and bitter, disgusting, fraudface evil Hilary Clinton. Plus there are plenty of people (men and women) who simply don't want a female president.

Biden might have been mentally incompetent, but let's face facts, there's a large swathe of voters in this country who will vote for a senile white male over a black female any day of the week. It's not right, and it's not pretty, but it's also still the truth. She's had a nice surge here, but no rational person can say "Kamala Harris is a better President than Trump because _______________" and fill in that sentence with any real answer.

If Trump can get the same rules for the 2nd debate as he did for Biden where they cut off his mic and keep him from saying dumb ****, he should destroy Harris in that. is there going to be a VP debate?

Defense contractors, highway construction companies, researchers, or any other profession receiving tax dollars? They get fat at the trough. While you're at it, boot all of them off the rolls, too.

It's going to be a tough four years but it's necessary. America will survive. This MIGHT be what it takes to get the GOP to get their act together and work toward solutions and not just Bible thumping and rhetoric. For whatever reason, the right didn't get the memo in 2020. I've met more 2016 Trump voters that are now voting intentionally for Harris than 2016 Trump voters that will vote for him again. As long as we have extreme stances on abortion, marijuana, and hotheads more interested in hearing themselves talk than getting the country on track, we will continue to lose elections. Hopefully they get it together before it's too late. As everyone says "this is what you voted for".

The Republicans definitely need to dump the 40-year-old Reagan playbook. The voters that it appealed to are either dead or almost dead now. A 1984 platform will not win an election in 2024.

I'm in my late 40s and the Reagan platform was great but he was not conservative enough on immigration or the second amendment.

Didn't get past "Kamala is up in polls"

1. Polls have proven recently to be very unreliable.

2. Fox told you that the media will have her up in the polls by the convention. It will be fake news. Now that it has happened we are all flipping out.

Bottom line there is a long ways to go and I truly believe policies will be the difference this year. Those are just beginning to be discussed.

Here is some reasonable speak. There are a bunch of sissies on this thread on the Republican side.

You mean that same Constitution that requires actual citizenship to vote?
Yes, that same one, and I didn't get an answer to my question. Taking away a Constitutional right is a lot harder than giving such a right loosely, but nice try.

Nice try because it was truth, the dems would have every third world low, non-citizen info voter vote simply for their pathetic candidates irrespective of qualification. For the record that's NOT the founding fathers and authors of Constitution intended or what is authorized in it. Try again yourself…

On the contrary, they are two totally separate issues. Giving non-citizens voting rights is absolutely wrong and I'll state it right here. Will you state that poor people shouldn't be allowed to vote, even if they're citizens? Please find that in the Constitution. Don't forget, the Founding Fathers didn't want women or Blacks to vote, either. You want that?

They wanted only land owners to vote.

I prefer my net taxpayer idea but if you prefer amending the constitution back to the original, I'm down for that too.

No I don't want that but if I was writing the founding documents I would asked for a provision that the votes of those who have sacrificed for the country and directly served in the military should have a greater influence on national elections. Not those sitting behind a keyboard somewhere.

WTF is this? The problem with the GOP has nothing to do with too much Bible, pro-life stances, aversion to legalized mj or principled rhetoric. Trump is none of those things. That this post collected stars is embarrassing.

The GOP's current flailing has everything to do with running a polarizing, undisciplined candidate with sky-high negatives. And he has the opposite of the Midas touch when it comes down-ballot general election races.

As far as doing illegal things the man was just convicted of 38 felonies as well. It just blows my mind how every 4 years we can seem to trot out some of the worst possible candidates for one of the most important jobs in the country and everyone will try and justify all the ****ty things their parties representative has done as opposed to getting some candidates that haven't done so many ****ty things.
Except the lawyers that brought the NYC fraud case are likely to get sanctioned, may get disbarred, and possibly charged with electioneering.

So, there is that.

Will be interesting to see how this one goes.

Maybe hit the brakes on lawfare convictions prior to appeals?

HRC was not a crappy candidate.
She might be a shrew, corrupt, and an absolute *******, but she would have made a better President than Obama and Biden, and certainly better than Kamala.
She is not anti-American, and she isn't stupid. She also isn't a marxist, much more pragmatic than the others.

well, we will never know what HRC might have done. We could speculate that if HRC would not have funded the Steele dossier, the FBI haven't abused FISA, and Paul Ryan haven't left Trump hanging by a thread with Republicans he could have done more for the United States.

Well, don't underestimate democrats. They have multiple ways of winning elections. If they can't win with vote cheating, they'll try to win with lawfare; and if they can't win with lawfare, they'll try and win with media propaganda; and if they can't win with media propaganda, they have backup plans also...court packing and abolishing the electoral college. And then, if all else fails, they have...bullets. No doubt, Trump agrees. In fact, so does Hillary.
