I starred you for a good response

but again, too many conservatives are literally claiming people are going to vote for someone based on their foreign policy?!?!

Uh, hello?

EVERYONE who is intelligent already knows who they are voting for. we are talking about the 3% of the population who are dummies and can vote either way or stay home.

THESE are the people that will love a female black woman- or not.

these are not people who think about the affect of their vote on Crimea!

How was RFK Jr. kept off the ballot? He dropped his Democratic nominee bid in early October of 2023 to run as an independent, almost 4 months before the first primary took place.

They let Biden take the heat as long as possible until the RNC and Trump's nomination, and they're going to shield their new candidate, be it Harris or otherwise, as long as possible.

The optics of selecting a white person or a male or both over Kamala is too much for the Democrats to survive.

If I were Trump I wouldn't debate her. She's not earned the nomination. Don't play by their rules with their internal coup. No need to give her a bigger stage than the corporate media is going to giver her anyway.

Biden is the only candidate that received enough votes to be the elected nominee, and that debate speaks for itself. Kamala will be Biden 2.0 from a policy standpoint.

1) so the fact she can choose a VP candidate from a swing state

2) and is not an 82 year old with dementia

that doesn't make her a stronger challenger than BIDEN?!?!

I simply can't fathom this logic. can you actually explain using a fact to support your hypothesis?

Well… When she ran against Biden and many others during the Democratic primary four years ago, she registered a statistical 0% of the vote.

I don't see how a person that unpopular, then can suddenly be a candidate that everyone is excited by.

If Kamala Harris becomes president, then it really is true that anyone can become president.

This is my fear.

The debate wouldn't be a concern if Trump could stay on message and not let his emotions get the best of him. If he stays poised and "presidential" when talking to, and about her, he'll be fine.

This is turning in to the 2nd best scenario for Trump. The best would have been if Biden stayed in of course. It is Trump's election to lose now and he can definitely still lose it but things do line up for him really well.

Positives for Kamala:
Age and health
Woman and minority
Media fawning over her
Rapid consolidation of the Dem power brokers behind her
Currently VP and can use all the trappings of office to look more Presidential
She has a free hand to pick her VP and be strategic

Those are all legitimate pros and they can't be taken for granted and I hope Trump does not.

The negatives are massive for her though:
She's an idiot who makes Veep look good
She has that annoying cackle and outside of liberal women people hate her
She is directly connected to Biden's record and has to run on it
While the power brokers are behind her the Party isn't yet and I don't know that she can get the rank and file on board
This process just feels wrong without votes or even the ability to influence delegates, even for most Dems that are used to doing whatever is necessary this is not going to sit well
The way this process has played out has been incredibly damaging to the Dem Party and to her and they can't make it all just go away

In the end the Dems are still in total chaos and are very close to just chalking up the L for the WH and focusing on the down ballot and every man for himself mentality. The biggest problem they have though isn't any of that. The biggest problem they have is the assassination attempt on Trump humanized him and united the GOP fully behind him as well as gaining him a lot of crossover support. Still enough time and opportunity for the Dems to turn this ship around but it's going to take Trump making a mistake for that to happen.

In addition, there may be a faction of Dems who just want Kamala out of the way so they can step up in 2028 ... i.e. Gavin Newsom. By sandbagging her candidacy now, they can ensure she loses and disappears from future presidential contention.

I agree- but what does that ACTUALLY mean?

who cares if Gavin Newsome and Pritzker want her to lose?

what real affect does that have on the race in November?

It just means a lot of her support is lukewarm and some people might even work against her inside the Party because her losing actually benefits them personally. I can definitely see that with Newsom and Pritzker who are Governors of Deep Blue states that may have Presidential ambitions.

She's wildly unpopular, competing with Hillary for most unlikeable (who did lose to Trump).

She has no accomplishments whatsover. Her only "job" as VP was border czar and that's one of the biggest issues facing this country.

Also there are many men who simply won't vote for a woman. I know that's sexist but it's the truth. With Biden they just assumed the puppet masters were calling the shots and they were fine with that but with Kamala, she could go rogue and do you think people will vote for her to be Commander in Chief with global conflicts around the world?

I had a family member date someone who believed there was Biblical evidence as to why women should not be allowed in politics at any level. Hell people on this board half joke (or maybe they are serious) that it was a mistake to allow women to vote at all.

Aside from how much of an empty suit she is, she's fake and only true believers overlook her lack of authenticity. Further she's condescending and arrogant which for someone as dumb as her, is really a bad combination.

Further and maybe most damaging, is the fact that Trump can still hang Biden's terrible record around her neck. If someone else took the nomination, it would be more of a "clean break" from Biden's terrible policies and record (although any Dem would be just as bad).

Also the Dems have an RFK Jr problem if he doesn't somehow come back in the fold and continues to run as a 3rd Party. I can see him peeling off some votes from people who won't vote for Harris.
The Dems are going to die by the DEI sword.
