We would have DeSantis armed with a mandate to clean up the alphabet agencies.

And, if there is one thing about DeSantis, he is not scared, at all, to push the limit to enact policies that fight against the Marxist left. DeSantis doesn't tweet, he passes strong, often overreacting, policies to combat the Marxist cancer.

Depends who got the nomination in his stead. This country is bigger than one man. George Washington knew that. Some folks here on TexAgs may need to remember that.
How about we just start with getting a President who can remember…anything.

If Trump were actually killed yesterday, the left would only be emboldened that they can always get their way (whether or not they had anything to do with yesterday), and the right would be emboldened to get even. It would be very ugly.

There would have been a lot of pissed off people.

I think there would have been some out there who would try to carry out some sort of retribution. It would not have shocked me to see some sort of response by a few whackjobs targeting a 3-letter agency similar to the Oklahoma City bombing. After that who knows what would happen in response.

Full-blown unrest? That's for unemployed people.

I'm just thankful none of this happened.

I'm likely to be called a crazy conspiracy theorist, but I think the election is going to get really crazy in the next few months. I would not be shocked at all for Biden to be assassinated by one of their own in an attempt to frame the right. They saw how it energized the right when Trump was shot and they want the same for the left. If they succeed in killing Biden, they no longer have to worry about him on the ticket and he becomes a martyr whose final wish was for Trump to lose. Plus, they spin it that "those crazy Republicans tried to take out their own candidate and succeeded in taking out ours." Then, when they cheat again, which we all know they will, it will be less obvious to morons who believe voter turnout was the highest ever due to people rallying behind Biden's successor.

Or even wins outright bc you'll believe it was stolen regardless.
I will? Thanks for telling me.

Our country and constitution has survived much worse. The US political process would have mourned and then moved on and a new GOP candidate and election in November. There probably would have been some public unrest in parts of the country though for a bit, and some innocent people might have been hurt and killed in some protests or demonstrations that got out of control. Which would have been very sad to watch.

There is no way people would risk their lives if Trump died. We would have to have been at the brink already, and we're not even close.

Biden/Harris would win the election - there would be no red wave and full on Marxism takes hold and your generation has failed this country

Luckily God moved Trumps head by 2 inches and we move forward with his plan

I think you're correct, and I think that it's the next step in their plan to forevermore solidify their power.

Their cries of "Everybody calm down!" and "Unity!" will change to "Now the Right must be destroyed!"

Collapse, not immediately, but it would
become difficult for dem politicianss and probably ppl in the media to walk around freely because enough unhinged ppl would say" F it, burn it down".

praise lord we don't have to see right now- hopefully the secret service will get their @ss in gear and take care of things the next four months

but it would have been crazy the developments- would Nikki Haley be the nominee?!

with so much anger in the GOP that would be hard to believe.

people would clamor for a worthy successor to Donald.

we may have dodged an even bigger bullet by not having Don Junior as our nominee.

praise lord!

No doubt, I'm just glad (so far, at least) that this remains a hypothetical discussion.

I genuinely don't see any outcome better than what we have received. Him dying, his death on camera splattered across social media and the radical left cheering in joy would set off things for the worse no?
It would have been the most emotional assassination in the United States since the 1960's.
This is something our country hasn't really experienced since the wave of assassinations that happened to key figures in the 1960's.

but he would NOT have been the nominee

the Trump MAGA base would be literally tearing down Milwaukee "chas v'chalila / lord forbid"

and would have demanded Donald Junior be the nominee as he is "closest" to Trump's legacy.

I agree and said a similar thing on another thread. I've seen so many people say that at least now we can feel certain Trump will win but the way everything has gone so far there's just too much time left for more crazy things to happen. By election time one or both of Biden and Trump may not even be alive for all we know (I mean hell, they're both old, either one could simply drop dead any day of a heart attack or whatever, not to mention someone actually doing something to them). We'll still have the chaos and confusion of who the Dem candidate will be, we could always have a major escalation of one of the ongoing wars, who knows.. Way too early to do anything but just watch for a while.

Yeah, and I'm half-joking of course but in the event that we got Haley or someone similar there might be as many accusations that the Republicans killed Trump to protect the party instead of leftists, haha!

Same thing that happened last time. Nothing. Every check and balance from the poll worker to the Supreme Court failed to act last time, and the American people, our last line of defense also failed. Nothing happened.

Which brings me to the OP's question:
> If Trump died would we have collapsed as a country?

God forbid such a thing would happen, but if it did, I would hope some people would wake up. But the country has already collapse. I wish people would realize this because people in this country aren't going to resurrect America if they don't see that it's gone.

We're not just going through a rough patch. We've lost our government agencies. We don't have a border., We've lost free and fair elections. The Constitution is no longer in effect.

America is dead.
Everything that has happened during the last 3+ years has been a result of that.
No, I don't care what CNN or MSNBC said this time

I've commented on this on a similar previous thread.

No one really knows exactly what the aftermath would be if the shooter was successful but it certainly would be a nightmare for the country. I don't even want to speculate. I've just been thanking the Lord Almighty every day since that he wasn't successful.

From the shooter's vantage point, if Trump had been facing the crowd instead of looking to his right, we would have witnessed an event that is unfathomable. That would have been like throwing a lit match onto a brush pile that has been soaked in gasoline.

This time they missed.

There would have been retaliation. How bad that got and for how long would be the only question. It very well could have escalated into a cleansing of high profile people. I dont think a lot of the media mouthpiece types realize how close they were to having their lives drastically altered. And did you notice how fast Obama was to denounce it. He realizes it puts a mark on his butt.
