Trump can't just drain the swamp. He has to rebuild the government. In his first term, he fired Comey and all hell broke loose, and the democrats were able to successfully tie his hands with a sham special counsel. Add to that that republicans in Congress can't govern. How is this going to be anywhere near possible?

I don't know the answer, but it has to happen. Start with the military and make sure the leadership there is loyal and capable. Because as soon as you start reforming the CIA and FBI, all enemies, both foreign and domestic, are going to pounce.

That's a really great idea. Haven't heard that proposed before, but it sounds like it would be achievable, effective, and permanent.

Eliminate the agencies. Sometimes we think those agencies have been around forever where in reality there only existed since WW2. I don't think the country would skip a beat if they were eliminated, and it would empower the states and make them relevant again.

We don't need any. What do they do that is beneficial? Name one thing.

My recommendation for years is to fire all agency staff and replace them through rotating governatorial appointments from state agencies where they continue getting paid by their states and must return to their home agencies after no more than 4 years.

Some of these groups have lawfully required or mandated functions and things they are supposed to do competently and apolitically are important. You can't completely eliminate the functions they carry out that are lawful, legitimate, and important for national security and a functional justice system.

They can be cleaned up, reorganized, or reconstituted. There is nothing about the institutions themselves that is sacrosanct. They can be replaced and reordered.

Sir, this is F16 where posters proudly want to eliminate Border Patrol, Customs, ICE, the NWS, the Department of Defense…..for example…. It just sounds so "edgy". Hell, some even wanted no inspection of eggs and poultry from diseased up countries.
