I was in 8th grade when a kid my history teacher had sent to the office for something returned to class and told the teacher, Mrs. Wally, that President Reagan had been shot. All the color went out of that old lady's face (I say old because on the first day of class she embarrassed the hell out of me by announcing that she had taught my mom). Mrs. Wally collected herself and talked to her class about what she had been told by the student. She then went on to say that some 20 years before, a kid who she had sent on an errand had come back to class with the news of JFK being shot in Dallas, a Deja vu if ever I heard of one.
