Who's allowing this or who is creating this?
Allowing what? People purchasing property and building a community? Isn't that sort of freedom the ethos of the United States?
Nope - not that kind of community.
Ahh so only freedom for people you agree with.
You are being willfully ignorant.
I am choosing to not hate an entire group of people and try to restrict their freedoms based solely on their religion.
But what if their religion tells them it's their duty to kill non-believers? To jihad?
Believe it or not, most Muslims don't believe they should kill non Muslims. If that were actually true, we would live in a much different world. Islam has nearly 2 billion followers. If even half of them were wanting to kill non-believers it would be newsworthy to say the least.
I feel like so much of this board lives in their own bubble and doesn't interact outside of it at all. I mean do any of you personally know any Muslim people? Have Muslim friends?
If you really believe in Islam, its your duty to pick up your sword against your neighbor. If you really believe in Christianity its your duty to put down your sword. Its really as simple as that. And there are overwhelming numbers of people within both religions just practicing religious minimism. Happy to placate along with their lives pursuing prosperity in whatever they want. But go look at what the holy men of each side preach, do and encourage the maximalists to do.
Democracy is a delicate thing that requires a common morality upstream of its governing functions to work. We're driving headlong as a country into tribalism.
Do I think they shouldn't have the opportunity to build a community? No, but its clearly something you gotta keep an eye out for. For once, FHA can cut both ways here.
