" Just a question, but much of the money may be coming from the Islamic Brotherhood or other radical groups?"

Unfortunately I think most of the money will come from unsophisticated people who don't do their due diligence before forking over the $40k deposit.
You are probably correct.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”

What's the source of this? Wondering whether legit. Phone number is associated with a valet parking business in Los Angeles.
Videos seem legit.

Just taking a glance at this the plan is to buy 400 acres of land to build a city? Are there even 400 acres of contiguous land for sale around Josephine? And what's the price tag on that? Now add the price of infrastructure, homes, etc. And this group is going to issue 500 shares to investors to cover that? Sounds mighty scammy.

$80k buy in for a share and you are "guaranteed" a lot…but only if you can come up with the difference for the cost of the lot. What a deal! To be a part of a brand new corporate city with a $40 million capitalization.

According to their video, they closed on the land in March and the land purchase was funded by EPIC - which already has a large presence in Plano.

My understanding is that they are now trying to raise the funds to build the infrastructure

Looked into it a little more. There is some land outside of Josephine that has been owned by a real estate entity since 2020. This has to be the land being referenced by the church, however, I don't see any obvious connections between the church and the real estate entity. The real estate entity last month petitioned TCEQ for a municipal utility district covering the land. They state the cost of the utility project is $66 million. So now I have more questions than answers.

Supposedly they're looking to close in the land mid June according to their documents. There are multiple entities involved, one being the Islamic center, another being a real estate company owned and run by the Islamic center, and a third that is a general partnership which is what is invested in and partially owned and operated by the real estate company.

The current ownership could be a shell company for someone else or they could have purchased awhile ago under a different real estate company and are transferring ownership. Who knows.

Allowing what? People purchasing property and building a community? Isn't that sort of freedom the ethos of the United States?

Nope - not that kind of community.
Ahh so only freedom for people you agree with.
People forming ghettos and not mixing with the rest of the populace, is decisively anti--American.

Yet that's pretty much how do many of the previous immigrants (irish, Chinese, Italians, etc.) did things when they first came to this country. Then over time they did.

You are being willfully ignorant.

I am choosing to not hate an entire group of people and try to restrict their freedoms based solely on their religion.
But what if their religion tells them it's their duty to kill non-believers? To jihad?
Believe it or not, most Muslims don't believe they should kill non Muslims. If that were actually true, we would live in a much different world. Islam has nearly 2 billion followers. If even half of them were wanting to kill non-believers it would be newsworthy to say the least.

I feel like so much of this board lives in their own bubble and doesn't interact outside of it at all. I mean do any of you personally know any Muslim people? Have Muslim friends?

Believe it or not, you're still talking. Go away apologist and take your Shria and nonsense with you..

Some context about the range of developments in Josephine.

Josephine population in 2014: 1,106

It grew to about 1,600 in 2018. And then more growth to 2,200 in 2020.

It's now 11,631. 415% growth since 2020.

Developers are throwing up houses as fast as materials can be delivered to the City with zero signs of significant slowdowns so long as the City can continue to grow its water and sewer supply and treatment.

This whole area of north and east collin county is undergoing rapid and significant growth, moreso than most any region in the united states.

Dunno, but they seem to be pretty serious about it. If they can find 1000 families with the funds for a buy in, that's $80 million. Probably enough for the land deal and a lot of the infrastructure. Probably not schools and a mosque though. Elementary schools would run about $20-$30 million each, depending on size.

As an almost life-long resident of Plano (33 years, PSHS wassuuppp??!)
It is so different than what I grew up with, I can't imagine living there today. Plano was 40 years ago what Josephine is today. "The Sticks", as one of my mother's friends once called Plano.

Plano now has a problem with only old people living there, and all of the people with school aged kids moving to places like Josephine. Or, where my mother lives in Farmersville, which is also blowing up with new housing.
It is so crazy to watch what is happening in my old stomping grounds that were always farms and cattle ranches. Sad because my grandfather on my dad's side was a sheep farmer in Mullen. Now his land is a residential development. Hate it, don't care, I miss the Texas of my youth.

I keep flip flopping on if something like this is going to raise property values in its vicinity, or cause them to tank. Seems like a real coin flip. Who's going to want to buy in that area now? Just Muslims I suppose?

I never alleged laws were being broken. I was pointing out that thousands of Muslims are about to overwhelm a rural community of a few thousand. I think it's a topic ripe for discussion. When you double the population of a place overnight, with people extremely different from its current population, what are the schools going to look like? How will the politics change? How will it deal with double the traffic, drainage, etc?

The position I'm taking is that this is a horrible idea and that the area is about to be taken over completely by a radically different demographic.
CNN is an enemy of the state and should be treated as such.
