From a purely legal standpoint, the State of New York would actually want the gag order removed and Trump's lawyers would actually want the gag order to stay in place. Politically speaking, I don't think anyone really knows what benefits Trump the most. Personally, I don't see how yelling and complaining more about Michael Cohen or whoever will do much; I can more easily see how continued complaints about being muzzled might have a benefit.
