It seems Biden has been taking them off since 2022 to escort illegals to processing facilities so they can be released into the country.

Quote:

In 2023, just before Thanksgiving, Air Marshal National Council Director Sonya LaBosco warned that the Biden administration had "depleted" resources for U.S. flights by stationing air marshals at the border or having them follow individuals the federal government associates with the January 6, 2021, riots at the Capitol building.

"Right now, on most flights, you're not going to have air marshals," LaBosco said.

Old news. The Biden admin pulled them off and used them to process false asylum claims.

Is there really an issue with passengers trying to breach the cockpit mid flight? It's insane how many daily flights there are... With the number of smartphones onboard every plane, I'm not seeing viral videos of this being a problem.

So your take is that we don't need air marshalls?

I don't see videos of millions of houses burning down each day so I guess we don't need home insurance either.

Oh I don't know… as a deterrent for a major terrorist event. Maybe something like crashing a plane in a building?

Part of the deterrent is the bad guys thinking there are air marshalls on airplanes now the public and the bad guys know they are no longer likely to be there.

What do you think?

This sounds a lot like the management I work with on a daily basis…

I'm not seeing a lot of issues with bearing failures. You sure we need a pm?

Because I know that most flights don't have air marshals on them.

I think DCA is the only one that has them on every flight.

I honestly don't know the stats... But there are simply too many daily flights for us to have air marshals on. Go camp out in at DFW and IAH.... It's non stop... 24x7x365

Per Wiki.... There are 3,000 air marshals. Who knows if that includes the bureaucratic overhead found in all government agencies because you have to have the supervisors and the professional skype video conference marshals to effectively run government.

They were hired as air marshals. If we don't need them as air marshals, the government positions need to be eliminated.

Oh, and enforce the border and our laws that govern immigration.

I am 100% with you on that.

You're proving our point. They are a limited resource, meant for a specific scenario. And now, dip**** has them doing other duties, further limiting said resource in regards to their normal duties.

Okay, and if during the election season something does happen on a plane, there will be a whole lot more air marshals on the government payroll.

There doesn't need to be "a whole lot more" just don't limit an already limited resource, especially to help mitigate situations created by not enforcing other laws. This isn't rocket surgery.

Many pilots are armed. That alone should be enough of a deterrent. And the cockpit doors aren't really able to be breached these days...

Which might be OK if what they were doing with illegal aliens was meant to reduce their flow into the country. Instead, they are facilitating the invasion.

Use those 87,000 IRS to enforce our border. Oh wait, we don't want to enforce our laws, which don't allow illegals to invade our country.

There are lots of viral videos of Karen's making asses of themselves on planes getting hauled out of the plane by airport cops though and J have never seen one where an Air Marshall steps in to do something. I assume AMs are only on a select few flights that historically have people that need to be watched on them.

Since "Lets Roll" and have occurred thousands of times since, regular passengers have secured peace and will continue to do so in the face of a gun or bomb. There is no real need for air marshals anymore, especially since pilots are now also armed.

So we've reassigned Air Marshals to act as Orwellian Stasi agents.

Air Marshalls aren't there to control the Karens. That is the responsibility of the crew. Karens can used as a diversion in order to accomplish things more sinister.

This isn't optimal but it is like 1000th issue on the list of issues we have. 30T+ in debt, inflation, a SCOTUS judge thinks the government has 1st amendment rights, and another can't tell the difference between a man and a woman. All the while republicans are boasting of introducing a bill that accomplishes nothing.

Flight attendants eventually requested help from off-duty law enforcement officers, who "restrained Jones in flex cuffs and sat on either side of him for the remainder of the flight," according to the affidavit.

Right here:

Quote:

The flight was traveling from California to Virginia on March 3, according to an affidavit filed by federal air marshal Thomas G. Pattinson and reviewed by CBS News.

He was filing affidavits.

Probably because he wasn't on the airplane which is the whole POINT of this thread.
