Quote:

A revised 229,000 jobs were added in January, according to the report, down from the 353,000 initially reported. In total, revisions showed there were 167,000 fewer jobs added in the December and January than previously expected.

I heard the WBAP reporter this morning say "Job growth in February was stronger than expected with 275,000 new jobs when 200,000 were expected. The very strong job growth in January was revised downward to 229,000..." or something like that.

As if it's just no big deal that they lie to us like this and that they won't also revise February's lies downward.

We know they are lying, just like they removed Housing and other metrics from inflation
I think housing was removed from the metric in 1983

And SS received cost of living adjustments so there was an increase. This board is bipolar. If this story came from an article you would be saying the idiot didn't save enough and is relying on the government. Since it's your friend, you have found anything possible to blame besides your friend.

I am not retirement age and I am making sure that I don't end up like your irresponsible friend.
My very responsible, successful friend lives in my neighborhood here in the Phoenix area. He's got Chiefs season tickets and flies there for all the home games. What he's not willing to do is raid his retirement account and up his monthly withdrawal to overcome a horrible president's mismanagement of the economy. He interviewed for a consulting role with a safety company and will be doing it from his home if they work it out.

I'm not sure if you're 20 or 40 but you have a lot to learn or a rich daddy. The number of dollars you have saved is important but not as important as the discipline not to waiver from your plan.

Not everyone has the millions you have. When you retire you have what you have. When an idiot that hates Americans worse than anything in the world has control you have to either do without or get some more money. Perhaps he could do like the Biden family and not pay his taxes as that would give him more money. Probably not advisable because he probably isn't above the law.

Average SS check in America is about $1700/month. What kind of loser can't live on that. Do you know how much money 2% of $1700 is?
I thought Biden paid his taxes
Someone else paid them. The point is Hunter evaded taxes which is a felony and is living at the expense of you and me in the WH, flying around on AF1 and living the good life. I doubt any of the rest of us have cart blanche to evade taxes.

No idea. I just know under Joe 99% of Americans are feeling it. Lower and moderate income working and retired people especially. I do know inflation was 1.2% the month before Biden took office and actually declined during the covid year of 2020.

There isn't a certainty, of course. Trump did a decent job on FP, but a lot of that was bolstered by the errant idea pushed by the MSM that Trump was a lunatic that would start WW3.

A lame duck Trump probably wouldn't have been afforded the same benefit, especially after his horrible COVID response. But Putin waiting until Biden's weak ass was in office is telling, don't you think?

Ok. I will admit that it's unknowable but as Big Rob pointed out …. All of these foreign powers waited for Trump to be out b4 ramping up their misbehavior and that says something.

Putin took Crimea with Obama in office and went after the rest with Biden in office , and yet Trump is the Russian puppet? Makes a lot of sense… not

counter argument would be that it was difficult to plan for 12 % inflation

on the other hand, when you retire you better have enough saved to make it through higher and higher inflation a our economy begins to collapse.
