Why is it OK for EVERY hotel in CS to do this on gamedays, but one fast food chain tosses around the idea of pricing based on current demand and all hell breaks loose?C@LAg said:

beans do not belong in chili, not on tostados!
This is not a bad thing, in theory, because of what you said. The timing, OTOH, to do this right now with everything else going on makes it not such a good idea. Had they tried this in the Trump years when everyone was happy and not suffering from inflation, it would probably have gone over better.TA-OP said:
Isn't that how supply/demand is supposed to work? There's increased demand. Now, you can either raise prices to decrease demand during peak hours, or spend more resources on increasing supply to meet the demand. Wendy's has just testing whether surge pricing is cost effective for their business.

Wendy's used to be a good value. Now they're overpriced and mediocre. Taco Bell took lots of the stuff with fresh veggies in it off the menu and jacked everything up $1-$1.50 an item. Fast food continues to taste worse and cost more. On the bright side, it's way easier to blow off fast food and wait till I get home to make something. On the other hand, it pisses me off.
Beans, beans the musical fruit…

I agree and was not saying there is a halfway. I personally know plenty of liberals in Austin that are godless progressives, but I know plenty too that voted for Joe Biben and still consider themselves Christians. I think they choose to ignore the obvious or convince themselves conservatives are lying. They've also seemed to convince themselves that supporting what progressives support is what god would do. I in no way agree with that, just my observations.Foreverconservative said:I think the actual point is You are either pregnant or you are not. There is no halfway.ShaggySLC said:
I agree with you but again I was talking about when Chic-fil-a made the Christian play in 2010. I would imagine quite a few liberals considered themselves Christians whether good ones or not. In 2023, I still imagine a good chunk consider themselves Christian even if what they're voting for goes against it and don't practice it.
You've seen the HeGetsUs.org commercials, right?Quote:

More importantly, is the demand higher at rush hours? That's what matters in this case. Supply and demand and all that.doubledog said:
Question : Is the service better at rush hours? Is the burger better at rush hours...
I think we know the answer to those questions.

Tanner didn't put a ceiling on how much the dynamic pricing model could spike the cost of a meal or whether the base price would actually fall during slower periods.
