I've actually gone to them more since Whataburger went completely down the drain a few years ago.

Plenty of things you can blame on Biden, but this isn't it. It's merely capitalism to its natural conclusion - real time calibration of price according to demand.
It's interesting though because it almost positions them as offering a service rather than a good.

Does anyone still go to Wendy's? Man, they were good about 40 years ago, but they have really gone to absolute trash since the old man died.

How bad you got to screw up to now have to issue a retraction on this.
Some marketing dude goes to a conference and starts spouting off.
Media picks it up and runs with it.
They stepped in it.

I should also say that I went one time when they were offering a "Bacon and Blue" hamburger with bacon and blue cheese.
When they handed it to me, I checked it, and said, "You gave me a 'Bacon and Blue' without any bacon or blue!"
Right. Everyone who says "this is just capitalism, you must support it if you believe in capitalism" is a victim of decades of brainwashing to believe that the only tenet of capitalism is increasing prices as much as possible, and damn the consequences. This isn't capitalism. It's just a dumb strategy to respond to minimum wage pressures in a post-COVID labor world.Definitely Not A Cop said:Jeeper79 said:

You absolutely can. The impetus for them doing this is because they can't afford to staff their restaurants with as many people as they used to because of labor regulations. Everyone is also having trouble with the demands of rush hour with less employees. This strategy (hare brained imo) is designed to make more money to pay their remaining employees at more competitive rates.
Get ready for disappointment. It's not what it was decades ago.Well, okay then said:
Haven't been in, or even thought about, a Wendy's in decades. Now I'm thinking double with cheese, mayonnaise, pickles and tomatoes. It'll happen in the next few days…
When I was in college in the 90's at Oklahoma State, I had a Wendy's directly across the street from the house I lived in. I lived on the $.99 menu. Jr. bacon cheeseburgers, double stack burgers, biggie cokes, etc. They were great and dirt cheap back then.Rossticus said:
Wendy's used to be a good value. Now they're overpriced and mediocre. Taco Bell took lots of the stuff with fresh veggies in it off the menu and jacked everything up $1-$1.50 an item. Fast food continues to taste worse and cost more. On the bright side, it's way easier to blow off fast food and wait till I get home to make something. On the other hand, it pisses me off.
This isn't supply and demand. This is due to legislators raising minimum wage up too much. You're about to see a lot of low skill jobs disappear. Some places, like Wendy's, are trying to keep these people a job.TA-OP said:
Isn't that how supply/demand is supposed to work? There's increased demand. Now, you can either raise prices to decrease demand during peak hours, or spend more resources on increasing supply to meet the demand. Wendy's has just testing whether surge pricing is cost effective for their business.

The idea that Chick-Fil-a only appeals to Christians is blatantly false. A ton of liberals eat there too...

They were on their last leg last time I was there. The one on Holleman and 2818 closed awhile back.Emotional Support Cobra said:
I ate at the one on Southwest Parkway all the time back in the day. I would get a Big Bacon classic and it would be my only meal of the whole day. Oh, to have the metabolism of my youth!
