I've been informed by my friend that Nex died of an overdose of medication the night after she was beaten. She had been bullied for months, and took a lot of pills and passed away the following morning.

I'm very sad for Nex, and hope that she finds peace.

Such a sad story. Terrible that these bullies and her family drove her to this tragic death. We are failing dramatically as a society, and this is just another example.

So was it an accidental overdose or a suicide? Either way the trans community seems to be over represented in both categories. I wonder why that is.

Hopefully the next girl who is bullied that way gets more help from those in charge and hopefully they (those with gender issues) seek help earlier for their mental illness.

The minute my sweet little girl like in the above picture wanted to be a boy, I, as a parent would be all over it.
I think there is lots of recruiting going on amongst kids who are lonely, confused, mad at the world, maybe a little tomboyish, or girly as a guy (I know many who married opposite sex and are happy folks, but today get labeled by society as somebody they are not) and when the kids find attention, they are drawn to it..
And parents allow it, take them to some shrink who affirms kids desires, pumps them full of meds and eff up their lives forever.

She admits to starting a physical fight, throws one of the other girls into a paper towel dispenser, and she's the victim here who was "beaten?" Nah. Not buying any of that.

I'll admit to being emotionally manipulated by that picture when this story initially hit the news cycle, but I should have known better as once again the 24-hour rule prevails over our dishonest/agenda driven media.

I appreciate you following up rather than just running off regarding some of the conclusions you'd jumped to on the other thread.

I see there's still an angle of "LGBT suicide inspired by anti-LGBT bullying" and would ask you to tap the breaks on that assumption as well.

If a kid doesn't fit in they have a few choices:
A. find a way to fit in
B. find people they fit in with
C. learn to exist as a social outcast
D. conflict with the social order

It sounds like she was in the fourth option. Without details of how the feud started and why - let's hold off on jumping to political corners.

Kids being unnecessarily cruel to each other sucks. Government schools suck. School choice & separation of kids may help.

Maybe someday we'll stop cheering on mental illness and get these people the actual medical help they need, not including gender reassignment procedures.
