That's the whole point of the US sending arms to Ukraine. Ukraine is in the way of Russia's real targets.
And it is a hell of a lot cheaper to pay for the Ukrainians to bleed the Russians dry of men and equipment than it would be to go to the aid of NATO member Poland with our own men and equipment 10 years from now if we let Russia take what they want from Ukraine.
The let Europe pay for it if its so cheap.

They just passed a bill providing $60B in aid

Around the 30 minute mark it get very interesting. Russia in NATO ???? It was brought up.
I remember watching a guy on Crossfire over 30 years ago saying that we should be allying with Russia against the muslims instead of opposing them, as if the Cold War was still raging. He argued that Islam was the bigger threat to the west than Russia. Of course they ridiculed him.
He will proved proved right,

Justifying the deaths of innocent people just doesn't make sense to me. But, yes, what a time to be alive.

Paying for innocent people to kill innocent people sucks too.

It does, it all does. If only Putin didn't invade.

Or Ukraine surrendered.

Why should a nation surrender if the can fight?

There would be no fight without us. Now add in the fact is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Stop the corruption and spend on defense. Elect a diplomat that could possibly negotiate an agreeable solution.

This is BS. We didn't start sending serious arms to Ukraine until well into 2022, well after the Ukrainians had pushed back a lot of the initial Russian invasion.

Why should they have laid down? Should our founders have laid down for the British before France gave us aid?
I don't believe that either. That's the problem here. No one really knows what happened before or after we started sending arms in terms of the fighting. Lots of propaganda going on here.

He's banking on the west's lack of stomach for a widespread conflict. He's hoping we aren't willing to risk Paris, Berlin and London to save Warsaw.

I think that's a miscalculation on his part but it's hard to fault him for falling into that belief based on the last quarter century of global geopolitics.

Except we do know that. We could watch the Ukrainians push back on the Russians with their Soviet era weapons they still had. We didn't start sending them himars and other advanced weaponry until much later in the conflict.

There are a lot of countries in Europe paying a higher share of their GDP toward the conflict than we are.

Wait… You think both sides are innocent?

No, but deaths of innocent people is a byproduct of war.
When another country invades your own, nobody crossing the border to kill you is innocent.

I never said otherwise.

Admittedly I'm not well versed in this but I feel like If Europe would pull their weight in NATO there wouldn't be much to worry about from Russia, however they far prefer for us to defend them because it's cheaper . Russia has shown they aren't the military powerhouse we thought they were altho of course ICBM's do level the playing field.

Call me an Ivan if you wish: but with 75+ years to prepare against a modern Russian invasion, it's pathetic that Europeans ended up begging for American $ and weapons.

It's not that I'm unsympathetic to the Ukrainians in the meat grinder: but given the time everyone had to prepare, the only aid we should be sending is what Europe can purchase with cash at a 50% markup.

Much of the aid given to Ukraine has in fact been European weapons. Some of it even Soviet weapons from former Warsaw pact countries. And we in fact were the ones begging Germany to send their tanks to Ukraine.

Ukraine is a money laundering op. No oversight or controls on 100s of billions of taxpayer funds in "aide". Not hard at all to cyphon off 100s of millions and set up dozens of DC politicians for life.

Good on you. That's all most were advocating for, or at least myself.

Criticizing him before the interview comes out is disingenuous. If he fawned all over Putin like that CNN broad did over Mr. Bean, then hell yes, light him up.

Tucker is one of the few actual journalists around.

The Tucker interview was fascinating. Putin talked about a wide variety of subjects for over two hours. He was measured, calm, factual and sharp as a damn tack.

Contrast that with what we saw tonight in the US press conference or any time #CadaverBiden speaks. We're screwed in any discussion that might ever happen between senior leaders.

The analysis Putin went thru on the Russian vs US financial situation was fascinating and was predicted when we started pulling strings nearly two years ago now....they get stronger, we get weaker. Putin summed it up succinctly:

"The tools the US uses don't work"
“It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.”
