"Bipartisan". With one R. That is likely to vote against his own terrible bill.

"The Republican author is likely to vote no on it as well, as well as a Senate majority leader or minority leader."

Now that the Bill is failing in the Senate today because it's failing in the Senate Test vote, Schumer's staff is going to rip out the entire Border section and reintroduce the Bill as strictly AID to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, and then they are going to try and push it through like that. The NGO's are screaming to get their hands on that $60 billion for Ukraine, they've got to get the skim boosted back up. They are waiving the boogyman Putin and Schumer saying if we don't launder this money to Ukraine your grandkids are going to die on the battlefields.

Don't underestimate the potential truth of this.

The military-industrial complex has no qualms about sending their cannon fodder to die for their own bank accounts and power.

It's not that the US would be at war because of Putin's asshattery, it's that the politicians would see an opportunity for more money and power.

You can sense the desperation in the posts of Biden's bootlickers on this thread. Hyperbolic attempts to blame Republicans or Trump for a border situation their Sultan of Senility created when he canceled immigration-related agreements with Central American countries and Mexico keeping illegal immigration in check. Rants on Trump while Oldfinger removed border security controls (Because Trump put them in place.) and turned the Border Patrol into an illegal immigrant amnesty processing staff rather than an enforcement body.

Three years of telling us the border was safe, secure, and well managed. Three years of claiming illegal immigration wasn't a problem.

Now they admit the problem…and it's not their fault they destroyed border policies that were working.

Obviously you don't read many of my posts, I rant on the MIC on a daily basis. I quote Ike's farewell address at least once a month. I never underestimate the MIC. We were warned over sixty years ago and it was ignored.

Yeah, and the idea that Putin would invade Poland or any other NATO country next is ludicrous. Russia can barely fight Ukraine. They don't want any direct involvement of western Europe or the US.

Putin is irrelevant. Politicians crave money and power. They will sacrifice anyone to get it.

Literally his first day on the job, after he got done with his super awkward inauguration that no one attended surrounded by concrete and concertina wire. But suddenly, 3 years later, we need a bill, and republicans fault we cant fix the border with a bill that incentivizes more illegal immigration.

Allowing two million more illegals in per year isn't a fix. It's codifying the invasion.

republicans can't pass any border legislation. It's the ONLY thing they have to run on this election. If not for that, they have nothing. So even though republicans got what they asked for, they can't vote for it. There were a lot of good things in that bill, to reduce asylum seekers and add more border patrol agents. It was a BIPARTISAN bill, and republicans still can't support it. Shame, but it's clear they can't govern because they're more concerned about winning the election.
Still sticking with the great economy (even after the numbers have been shredded, even by the MSM) and great oil production as Biden's accomplishments?

What is Schumer doing?

Quote:

Schumer still plans to hold a procedural vote on proceeding to the Ukraine and Israel funding package that includes border security reforms. That way, he can give vulnerable Democratic colleagues a chance to vote for it and argue on the campaign trail that they tried to address the crisis at the border.

But Republicans are expected to block that package and then, Schumer said he will move to Plan B.
"Schumer has told Senate Dems he is planning to put the negotiated supplemental on the floor without the border security piece after the expected failed cloture vote Wednesday," a Senate Democratic aide said.

"Schumer told members of his caucus and the White House last week that if the Republicans scuttled the bipartisan border and supplemental agreement, he had prepared a plan to use the motion to reconsider to force Republicans to vote on the supplemental without border [reforms]," the aide added.

The motion to reconsider would allow Schumer to immediately require senators to vote a second time on a legislative vehicle to move funding for Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific.

A motion to proceed to the package failed by a vote of 49-50, with most of the Senate GOP conference voting against it. Republican Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), James Lankford (Okla.) and Mitt Romney (Utah) voted to advance the measure.

No, but it sounds like there are four home towns who should be getting some illegal aliens shipped in courtesy of the red, white, and blue flag with the big single star on it. Preferably at the doorstep of each senator's house.

Serious. What is your definition of the MIC?
It starts with the NeoCons in congress that feed off the war machine made up of Dept of Defense, CIA, DARPA, NSA, Dept of Homeland Security, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, Raytheon, Texas Instruments, IBM, Halliburton KBR etc etc etc. Certain seats on the Senate Arms Committee, that feed this machine as well as certain seats on the House Budget committee, as well as the State Dept who controls USAID and the hoards of NGOs that feed off the bounty and kick back the skim to those that stoke the furnaces in the name pf "peace" that keep us in wars all over the globe so they can stay at the trough and continue to feed on the trillions in tax dollars, and work the skim.

Now was that really a serious question? I think not.

Senate rejects its own piece of crap bill:

This is called bi-partisan rejection...

"The vote was 49-50...five Democratic no votes, and four Republicans voting yes. Markey, D-Mass.; Menendez, D-N.J.; Padilla, D-Calif.;Sanders, I-Vt.; & Warren, D-Ma., voted against..."

Even Democrats didn't fall for all of Schumer's bull****
“It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.”
