yep! If only everyone would just go to msnbc and read the unbiased summaries! Then they'd all be praising the fine patriotic senators for putting this wonderful fine start to a solution to Biden's open border forth and blaming the racist ultra maga extremists who are killing it because they want a closed border and because lord trump told them to kill it.barbacoa taco said:
But I have read direct language from the bill and unbiased summaries.

Absolutely wrong. They're turning down a crap bill
they need this to be an issue for the 2024 election cycle, and we all know it.
But you say the Rs own it now. Which is it? If the Rs own it then how is it a campaign issue for the Rs
You are the guy that says we need to have so many illegals entering illegally each year because of commerce, which is the dumbest thing I've ever read.
Rs know they poll well on immigration/border issues. it's an election year. Trump owns the party and says he doesn't want the bill. Some R congresspeople are saying the quiet part out loud and saying they dont want to do anything that could help Biden's polling.
Rs own the border issue at this point. Even with the Biden administration's failures in the first couple of years of his presidency.

McConnell Hates everything Trump. - try another trollbarbacoa taco said:
So McConnell deputizes Lankford (one of the most conservative senators) to negotiate a bipartisan border deal to ensure it includes GOP priorities, only to bail on his ass the day after it's released. All because daddy Trump told him to.
Cold blooded move by cocaine Mitch.

This bill was doing something?DanielDay said:
now we get to hear Trump spend the next 9-10 months complaining about the border when he could have done something besides pressure Johnson to not do anything.

They'vve been told to go out and regurgitate the Trump narrative. Have to smear those "extreme MAGA republicans," you know, the people who actually believe in laws.
I needed a laugh so I turned on Joy Reid when she opened her show last night. She did a 5+ minute piece on the bill. The spin she put on it was truly amazing. While there was a graphic of how much each major portion of the bill totaled, she never actually SAID the quantity of the other portions out loud. Unless you saw the graphic and was able to comprehend it in the mere five seconds it was on the screen, you would swear the whole bill was about just the Border?! She spent the rest of the piece laughing and mocking Repubs along with a few other lib twits.zephyr88 said:
Is it really a 'border bill' when only a small fraction of the bill is actually focused on our border?
There's more in handouts to Ukraine, Israel, Gaza and Taiwan than there is for issues at home.
Which mean that Swamp isn't worried about what's going on at home.

I am not sure why the blatant lies are allowed here. Leftists refuse to have an honest discussion on the border.

It shows how the GOP doesn't care nearly as much about the border as they do about their ability to campaign on it.

New: Sen. John Barrasso, No. 3 GOP leader, opposes border/immigration legislation. Not just the vote on Wednesday, but the underlying bill
