I read the first ten, or so, posts on this and assumed (as usual, I was wrong) it would last a couple of pages, since journalists have the freedom to do this all the time.

I'm shocked anyone would have any issue with a genuine journalist, even if it was one I viscerally hate, interviewing anyone, anytime, except maybe during a declared war.

This was, and is, what the term "free press" means, at least to me. I'm also shocked it's lasted this long.
Hate is how progressives sustain themselves. Without hate, introspection begins to slip into the progressive's consciousness, threatening the progressive with the truth: that their ideas and opinions are illogical, hypocritical, dangerous, and asinine.
This is backed by data.

In a vacuum there's nothing problematic about it. Tucker is just under heavy scrutiny because he's been pretty vocally pro-Russia, and given the current status of geopolitics it's a bad look.

But fine, let's wait until the interview gets released. But I think we all know what to expect here.

Hillary said russia reset. Obama said russia concern was old thinking. Putin stayed in Texas as a guest of Bush.

But then Hlllary said they're enemy #1. And ever since, rudderless Americans adjust their minds and spout her talking points.

One thing has been consistent for the last 30 years. Russia poses no threat to me and my family.
China on the other hand is refining a social credit system where maybe you will one day achieve good-boy status. And maybe they will buy you a house.

We just know this is going to be a softball interview and Tucker will now be a propaganda piece for putin because MAGA believe everything that comes out of his mouth

Most of these Putin crybabies can be identified by a single litmus test - where do you stand on LGBTQ issues. If they believe LGBTQ should be normalized, they don't think Putin should have a platform because he knows LGBTQ is unnatural and abnormal. Just an observation.
So you like putin because hes anti-gay?
I just made the observation that a lot of anti-Putin sentiment is directly traceable to his unwillingness to bend to LGBTQ propaganda. It is a religion to many and they see any opposition as an affront to "religious liberty".

I loath Putin because he represents the worst parts of both Russian culture and vestages of the post Soviet mindset. Everything I hate about Putin is what the left eventually wants for us. An intrusive state owned media which considers objectivity to be a problem, not an ideal. Strict limits on personal gun ownership with deference to the state for personal safety. Very little respect or commitment to personal private property rights. Sham elections. Not just demonization of political opponents, but outright murdering them. An engrained support of corruption. In Russian culture corruption isn't seen as a negative. It's simply how things get done and a part of the system. Putin loathes anglo saxon history and common law derived from it. He does not share the values of our founders and their quest for liberty. It is incongruent with him and Russian culture.

Putin isn't an adversary of American liberalism. He is what they will eventually evolve to be.

Because he's been trying to get Ukraine back to being part of Russia for decades. He invaded Crimea in 2014. He'd been funding a separatist proxy war in the east for years before that.

Blaming Nazis and biolabs and NATO "expansion" (which is the "actions" you're referring to) is a load of horse crap propaganda. There's a reason why NATO exists - it's a defensive alliance designed to prevent Russian aggression. Russia has been trying to get back with Ukraine since they left and Ukraine doesn't want that - hence the desire to join that alliance.

Your points are all well-taken. That said, Russia has, since the collapse of the Soviet Union, become more "conservative" both socially and economically. As American diplomat George Keenan said in the late 1990s, "these aren't the Soviets. These aren't the communists. These are the heroes who overthrew them. Why are we picking a fight with them?" The people who are expanding NATO will keep expanding it and expanding it, and then there will be a Russian reaction, and then when theirs the Russian reaction, they are going to say, see, that's proof that we have to keep on expanding it."

We have a lot more in common with Russia than people want to admit. While there are certainly vestiges of the old Communist mindset, they have been moving "right" for years while the U.S. has been moving left. We now restrict information. We try to prevent our citizens from hearing "news". We accumulate more debt as share of GDP by a large margin. We've surrendered on social issues that Russia stands firm against.

I think I figured out why all the autistic screeching.

He sounds way more rational and reasonable than your average progressive leftists.

I don't believe his reasons for invading Ukraine, but his take on transgender malarkey, climate change, our border issues, Joe Biden (obviously) not really being in charge.

He's supposed to be some awful dictator, but i would much rather talk to him than have a conversation with your average leftists.

If I had to pick an enemy of the US who is trying to actively destroy the country on purpose -- based solely on what Dem politicians and supporters say and do and the interview with Putin said, it would be the leftists 100 times out of 100.

The dollars were created and are being given to the arms manufacturers and then some makes it back to the politicians who ordered the printing. The American citizen is paying for it through inflation and additions to our debt. And the poor Ukraine conscript and Russian grunt are paying with their lives. Similar but not comparable. We don't know how good we have it here.
This can't be emphasized enough in our current climate. People don't seem to want to discuss the good things they have in their lives, just how horrible everything is.

People see how good we have it here, but they get angry when they see progressives implementing things that will make our way of life harder. It's human nature to get angry when you see a group of people making things worse.
Completely agree. However if the tendency is to be so obsessive about the bad, then its becomes harder and harder to see the good. Just saying its healthy to make sure we don't get enveloped by the 'spiraling vortex of doom' to the detriment of whats good in our lives.

"Russian culture", as you put it, is dealing with important issues in a more rational and reasonable manner than our leaders, from their borders to LGBTQ propaganda, to trans issues, and even monetary issues. If you can't see how far they've come, and how far we've fallen, since the collapse of the Soviet Union, then there is nothing really left to say. You seem to believe that "being Russian" is some sort of moral defect that makes an alliance impossible. I believe we have more in common with modern Russia than we do with many other countries with which we form alliances.

But the truth is, Russia wants to hurt American interests all around the world.
As do we they. WE started this war in Ukraine by giving Putin and Russia no choice but to defend themselves. We made agreements with Russia that NATO would not expand Eastward in Europe, and broke those agreements...
We've basically parked right on their doorstep...Russia honored the agreement and let territories like Ukraine, Crimea, etc become their own sovereign countries..

How would you feel if Russia and China parked Nukes in Mexico that could light up all of Texas in mere seconds with no warning?

I'm not saying Putin is a good human being, but we poked the bear, then we kept poking the bear because the bear did not react the first couple of times, and now we cry foul because the bear has finally reacted...To act like we did not play any role is just plain BS...It's like people back in the day acting shocked that the Native Americans finally United and kicked Custer's butt after our government broke so many treaties..

Our Presidents GW Bush, Obama, and now Biden just plain sucked and should have stayed away from Ukraine, and the rest of those formerly Soviet Union aligned territories.
You need to do more research because you are parroting misinformation.

ETA: I was late to respond, already brought up that Putin lies about NATO's agreement and even Gorbechev proved Putin a liar.
