Huge get for Iowa.
this race is not even started yet-
no matter how many times the Trumpers cling to mainstream media polls ("it's fake news unless it's pro-Trump!!)
Did you mention polls because there was about 10 just released showing Trump beating Biden in all the swing states?
Yeah they do not mean much right now, but this is a different election. Biden has shown to be a horrible President, a lot of his people will stay home this go around or vote for RFK & West.
There is one extreme on here and that is the DeSantis fans bashing Trump supporters.
He is 90+% going to be the nominee, no matter what dumbass stuff he says, I will vote for him in the general, because unfortunately he will be the best person running for the job.
Everyone bashed him in 2016 just like yall are doing now, and he was good president, probably would have been one of the best if not for Covid and if his base would have rallied around him instead of acting like idiots
Trump is going to talk crap about his rivals no matter what side during the primaries, he is what he is, an ass, but will be a good president and if the polls hold true, he will carry others to victory
Yes, there's some polls released showing that Trump narrowly beats Biden in MOST of the swing states. (Wisconsin still has Biden with a small lead).
There are also polls released that show both Haley and DeSantis beating Biden in ALL swing states by greater margins that Trump does.
I don't bash Trump. But it cannot be denied that he's making this run more about him than he is the country. I don't doubt that he wants what's best for the country, but that's not top-of-mind for him. His narcisissm shows more and more each day. He's also burned through many possible good advisors - not based upon their abilities - but based upon his percieved loyalty to him. That alone makes me question his ability to lead in the top job. And add to that the fact that he continues to alienate more and more people in the tent as time goes on....
Don't get me wrong. I believe Trump has been wildly unfairly targeted and has endured more egregious treatment that virtually anyone in politics before him. But that fact in itself in not enough to support him this time around.
So I'm not quite sure your point.
ETA - I applaud your username. It shows great loyalty and faith, though perhaps not a strong prognisticating ability...
Lol, I change my username yearly. Unfortunate situation we're in, it is wishful thinking. And I do not believe it for a second, I do it just to do it, for fun I guess.
I will not change my opinion of Trump having a better shot of winning this go around, if Biden is the Dem nominee. And if West and RFK are on the ballets, it only strengthens my view.
Y'all act like everyone thinks like yall do on here. People up north are different, we'll see what happens.
Polls last go around were pretty close to what happened, so I wouldn't discount them entirely.
Trump proved to be a good president and he was spewing garbage from his mouth in 2016. For as much blow back he got from his own party, he was still a good president.
I will vote for him if he is the nominee, I will vote for any Republican that is the candidate.
Honest question. What makes you think Trump would even be effective in 2024 as president?
He has few allies left on Capital Hill. There are only a few Senators that would identify as part of the MAGA contingent.
Most of his former Cabinet now oppose him. He'll have to completely restaff. With who I don't know. He'll be a one term president without a super majority.
The same tricks the Dems pulled on him last time (impeachments, lawsuits, judges overruling his executive orders) will be done again.
I can't see a situation where he is anything more than a figurehead.
If he wins, and the GOP do not get behind him than they will never win again.
Also if he wins, that will mean he carried GOP senators across the victory line, along with house members. And GOP will have control of both the house and senate.
Like it or not, the only way Republicans will win in 2028, after a Trump term (if he wins) is if they keep his hardcore rural voters and if the GOP fight him every step of the way, than they will have to deal with the backlash in 2026 and 2028
So if he gets nothing done, that will be on the GOP. He may be an ass, but like Dems do, GOP needs to turn a blind eye to it. Do not be a McCain. Get behind your President or lose
And what Senators has he talked crap about this go around? That is who matters on pissing off people and there is only one running against him in Tim Scott, who could be his VP
So I do not see him alienating his base all that much, he probably insulted Ted Cruz and Rubio the most last go around and I do not believe either fought him during his Presidency
