Dramatic video has emerged tonight showing a fearsome blaze trailing the landscape of western Yemen in the wake of devastating Israeli airstrikes on 'military targets', including fuel and power stations.

The strikes are understood to be in retaliation for continued Houthi rebel attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and comes just 24 hours after one person was killed by a drone exploding close to the US embassy in Tel Aviv.

Shortly after the fatal attack, Israel had vowed to 'settle the score'.

On a social media post appearing on X, formerly known as Twitter, at 5.21pm on Saturday, The Israel Defence Force (IDF) said it had carried out the strike in the western port city of Al Hudaydah, a Houthi stronghold.

The post said: 'A short while ago, IDF fighter jets struck military targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the area of the Al Hudaydah Port in Yemen in response to the hundreds of attacks carried out against the State of Israel in recent months.'

Ho Lee sheet.. this was a MASSIVE explosion, that looks like 1/2 a mile to a mile long explosion, must have been some type of explosives depots? They must have killed a ton of people working in that area.

FA - FO.

Think it was an oil and gas terminal or storage area.

It was their main import/export port. Oil depot next door. Israel took out both. Houthis will have big problems getting supplies of almost everything now. They had two ship container cranes. They are now mangled steel. The infrastructure is toast.

Houthis have been quiet with the ship attacks for a week since this strike.

These idiots attack our embassy. And we don't even bother responding.

The same Islamo-Nazis killed three of our soldiers…and we strike a barely-used position in a tepid retaliation.

While we continue the groveling apology tour to Islamo-Fascism Obama started more than 15 years ago, making Americans overseas expendable, Israel hits our shared enemy where it hurts every damn time.

The only thing these savages will ever understand is a missile or a bullet heading right between their eyes.

Israel gets it.

When will we?

That does not depict an explosion, it is the aftermath, a large fire.

operations all across the region in the last 24 hours from the IDF

eliminating the #2 Hizbullah terrrorist in Beirut

eliminating the #1 Hamas terrorist in Teheran (I did say a few weeks ago it would be easier to kill him in Iran than in Qatar for political reasons)

and operations continuing in Judea and Samaria

Israel Kills Hezbollah's 'Most Senior Military Commander' After Terror Group Killed 12 Children
By Ryan Saavedra

Men walk past debris and a destroyed car after the top floors of an eight-storey building were destroyed following an Israeli military strike in a Beirut's southern suburb, on July 30, 2024.

The Israeli military said it carried out a strike on July 30, in Beirut that targeted a Hezbollah commander responsible for the killing of children in last week's rocket attack on the Golan Heights. A source close to Hezbollah told AFP that a senior commander was targeted in an Israeli strike on its south Beirut stronghold.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed late on Tuesday night that a targeted strike it launched earlier in the day in Lebanon killed Hezbollah's top military commander.

Israeli Air Force fighter jets conducted the strike on Fuad Shukr in Beirut after the Iranian-backed terrorist group murdered 12 children in northern Israel over the weekend in a rocket attack.

The IDF said that Shukr was Hezbollah's "most senior military commander and the head of its Strategic Unit" and Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah's "right-hand man" and was his "adviser for planning and directing wartime operations."

Shukr was responsible for directing all of Hezbollah's attacks on Israel since Hamas' unprecedented October 7 terrorist attack in which thousands of terrorists stormed into Israel from Gaza and murdered 1,200 people, wounded more than 5,000, and took hundreds of people hostage.

"As the Head of Hezbollah's Strategic Unit, Fuad was responsible for the majority of Hezbollah's most advanced weaponry, including precise-guided missiles, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, long-range rockets, and UAVs," the statement said. "He was responsible for force build-up, planning, and execution of terror attacks against the State of Israel."

Fuad has been with Hezbollah for nearly 40 years and played a key roles in a number of major attacks since the early 1990s.

"In the 1990s, Fuad advanced numerous attacks against the IDF and the South Lebanon Army," the statement said. "In 2000, he was directly involved in the abduction of the bodies of three IDF soldiers SSGT Benyamin Avraham, SSGT Adi Avitan, and SSGT Omar Sawaid -who were killed by Hezbollah terrorists while patrolling the security fence adjacent to Har Dov. Since then, he has planned and directed numerous terror attacks against innocent civilians."

The U.S. government had placed a $5 million bounty on Shukr for playing a "central role in the October 23, 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine Corps Barracks in Beirut which killed 241 U.S. military personnel and wounded 128 others," according to the U.S. State Department.

How would you like to have been that F35 pilot(s). What a range of emotions (maybe) crossing the Iranian line, to the strike, to returning knowing murderous target destroyed.

I hope it was a female and mullahs get to know that!

you think that the IAF knew they took out Haniyeh that quickly? I would think it takes hours for them to assemble footage and see what is happening on the ground.

hard to believe it was one F-35. has anyone seen reports from Teheran of them hearing a plane anywhere in Iran during the night within 90 KMs of Teheran? previous missions someone is filming a plane up in the sky even when it's stealth.

what a movie this will make someday.

I think the IAF likely knew sooner than the pilot(s). I tried to word that in a manner that pilot found out on "returning". Pilot(s) likely more than one but not positive.

I think their intelligence knew almost immediately the target was struck with precision. Confirmation of his death may have taken hours.

I was able to watch the FPV of the automated gunning of the nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. That one they knew in real time.

Great news- as surmised the IDF took out Muhammed Deif three weeks ago in an airstrike in which they also killed a number 2 in the Hamas Gaza Khan Yunis brigade.

that's four of the very top senior leaders of Hamas and Hizbullah eliminated in three weeks.

NYT reporting it was not a missile, but rather a bomb smuggled in months ago. Wow.

ETA: if true, I do wish they hadn't reported it just yet. No reason to give away such valuable info that might make things more difficult, but maybe that was the NYT's goal...

correct, Sinwar is in a tunnel in Gaza or the Sinai Peninsula if he ran away through the rat tunnels

his brother is also a senior leader.

the IDF has killed 50% of all Hamas leaders since 7 October, and about 16,000 of their terrorist army.

If the NYT knew, then iran had already figured it out anyways. Forensics team investigators could make that determination pretty easily IMO.

This is being reported elsewhere now as well. If true, lots of Iranians and members of Hamas and Hizbullah gutting their mattresses today and probably lots of maids getting tossed off of tall buildings in Tehran.

This whole thing looks like a giant F U to Iran. Not just in terms of killing the Hamas leader in Tehran, but doing so 6 days after Iran was celebrating supposedly eliminating the Mossad moles in their security systems.
