The primary tunnel that IDF blew up yesterday was leading to one of Sinwar’s hiding places; it had its electricity network, rest, and prayer rooms and was 20 meters deep. pic.twitter.com/IdspwSaxou

I was just about to post this. Seeing those tunnel networks go up in smoke is a sight to behold. It is also infuriating to see what foriegn aid money, mostly from the U.S., was used for in munitions and tunnels. I am glad what we all expected - that Hamas was using mosques, hospitals, schools, daycares, and private homes as cover is being exposed for all to see.LMCane said:

Eleven leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed in an airstrike targeting Damascus International Airport on Thursday evening, Saudi media reported the following morning.
The commander of the Revolutionary Guards in eastern Syria, Nur Rashid, was injured in the airstrike, Saudi media channel Al-Hadath reported.
IRGC commanders were reportedly at the airport to meet with high-ranking delegates.
IRGC spokesman Sardar Ramzan Sharif denied on Friday reports that 11 of its leaders were killed in an airstrike in Damascus International Airport the night before, Iranian media quoted them as saying, as he said that such claims are "baseless."
Other strikes on Syria this week, foreign media also claims were done by Israel
Syrian media also claimed on Thursday evening that Israel had targeted sites in southern Syria and near Damascus with airstrikes in two separate waves. Syrian air defenses were activated in the Damascus area during the strikes. The country's media quoted one Syrian military source as saying that the alleged airstrike carried out by Israel came from the "occupied Syrian Golan Heights."

Has everyone just lost interest in this war too? This seems like it's going to continue to be a big impact on global trade/politics this half.Quote:
That doesn't mean there aren't pockets of terrorists, but they're not organized at the battalion level anymore.
Hopefully, the other big issue of air strikes will begin a prolonged ceasefire as well. And that terrorism and war acts can be negotiated in the prosecution of 30 thousand Hamas soldiers.
That is probably a good thing.
The cargo will be inspected in Cyprus, presumably by Israeli inspectors. Makes sense to have the possibility of aid being delivered by neutral third-party countries who just generally want to address the humanitarian catastrophe without being particularly sympathetic to Hamas.
UNRWA does some absolutely necessary work, but since they hire locally it's pretty much impossible not to have a lot of people in the organization who have very strong opinions about the conflict.
There's probably some risk the ship could get attacked by Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad for whatever reason (like Iran bribed them to do it), though I think Netanyahu would be delighted if it happened.

Give them a rest before redeploying towards Lebanon?Quote:
Thousands of Israeli soldiers are being shifted out of the Gaza Strip, the military said Monday, in the first significant drawdown of troops since the war began as forces continued to bear down on the main city in the southern half of the enclave.
The troop movement could signal that fighting is being scaled back in some areas of Gaza, particularly in the northern half where the military has said it is close to assuming operational control.
Israel has been under pressure from its chief ally, the United States, to begin to switch to lower-intensity fighting.
Word of the drawdown came ahead of a visit by Secretary of State Antony Blinken to the region and after the Biden administration bypassed Congress for the second time this month to approve an emergency weapons sale to Israel.
But fierce fighting continued in other areas of Gaza, especially the southern city Khan Younis and central areas of the territory.
That would be my guess.aggiehawg said:Give them a rest before redeploying towards Lebanon?Quote:
