Buried in a paragraph is that the "explosion" was caused by an Israeli drone strike. I guess it's politically incorrect to actually state that Israel got them some big targets.

Doubt there's anybody that knows the true number and if it exists would be unlikely to share it. You would be just as well off to make one up yourself. Take the hamas number and divide by pi. Or maybe take the IDF number and multiply by the square root of 2. Or just make a WAG and it will have as much credibility as any number you're going to find.

As was said above, you can't. Not the least of which is because it is impossible to define what is a "civilian" in a place where 80+% actively support the terrorists being pursued. It is also hindered by the fact that there are no unbiased journalists allowed anywhere near where any such civilians would be brought and counted. Only Hamas and Hamas approved stringers like those employed by Reuters, CNN, and AP would be allowed near where any bodies would be brought. They are going to repeat whatever number they are told by Hamas because they will be killed and lose their access if they don't.

So understanding that any number reported by Hamas or Hamas affiliated news stringers will be inflated for dramatic purposes and that any number reported by Hamas includes a high number of Hamas fighters and civilians who were likely supporting and/or helping those fighters, it is clear that any number they come up with is hopelessly biased high. And any number anybody else comes up with is going to be based on nothing but a guess because nobody else has the access necessary to make any kind of accurate estimate.

Theoretically, the UN should have somebody with that access and ability to be unbiased, but they don't. The UNRWA has been exposed for their collusion, cooperation, and support for Hamas during this Israeli operation, and nothing the UN says regarding Hamas or Gaza should be believed or trusted. They are a tool of Hamas.
