Yep. People get put in "open air" prison for a reason. The reerees *****ing about it are pretty much the same ones crying when some school shooter who's been telling everyone he's intent on killing as many people as possible is a) not arrested, b) allowed to get a gun, and c) actually follows through and kills a bunch of people. Hamas (and most palestinians) openly call for the destruction of Israel and the genocide of the Jews. They get kept in prison because they're violent savages who can't be trusted in a wider society.

This is the craziest story I have heard since 0ctober 7. Sad, happy, hopeful. Literally the Israelis care more about animals than Hamas cares about THEIR OWN WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

step back and imagine if the USA would dig tunnels UNDER our women and children and then launch barbaric massacres against Canada- knowing that then Canada would kill thousands of our citizens in a war.

Amazing story

Their next encirclement will apparently be the finale; the border with Egypt. Note that there is only one existing 'open' (sometimes) crossing; Rafah.

Quote:

The IDF has allegedly informed Egypt of its intention to occupy the Rafah border area and asked Egyptian soldiers to evacuate the area, Arab media reported.

The IDF informed Egypt of its intention to occupy the border area on the "Philadelphi" Rafa route and asked the Egyptian soldiers to clear the border, as reported on Saturday in the Arab media.

The report also stated that the IDF emphasized to the Egyptians that from now on the IDF would not be responsible for the security of Egyptian forces in the area, while the IDF is attempting to occupy the border area, and emphasized that the military operation in the area will continue whether Egypt agrees or rejects it.
I don't think the IDF has any interest in the terms the Egyptians have advanced;

Egypt puts forth a proposal for 'phased' hostage deal - report
According to a report in the Arabic language Asharq Al-Awsat paper, the outline would see the release of 40 Israeli hostages in exchange for 2-3-week ceasefire, followed by the overhaul of Palestinian leadership, comprehensive prisoner swap and IDF withdrawal from Gaza.
From the guardian 4 hours ago;

Quote:

Israeli army indicates its forces are close to having operational control in north Gaza
Jonathan Conricus, an Israeli military spokesperson, has indicated that forces were close to having operational control in north Gaza, AFP reports.

Now, he said, "we focus our efforts against Hamas in southern Gaza".

Signalling a pivot after weeks of intensive fighting around Gaza City, the Israeli army said troops were now looking to Khan Younis and elsewhere in the south.

A socially conservative city, Khan Younis even before the wars that have engulfed Gaza since 2008 was long regarded as a stronghold of political support for Hamas.
I also haven't read much of updates on flooding the tunnels, but with the IDF in essentially 'operational control' of around half of Gaza now (northern part), my guess is they are content to destroy them physically instead there.

In the south (there aren't all that many in the middle), some hysterical concerns that the tunnels are 'part of Gaza's culture' etc. Some funny quotes about the claims as to aid supplies/hazardous materials in them in this post:

Note that the Egyptians flooded a bunch that crossed into Egypt (for obvious reasons) with sea water already a few years ago.

Aside: I haven't seen any reports of rocket strikes from Gaza this am, which is nice, though the IDF lost 15 soldiers yesterday.

Very interesting turn of events. This isn't really as simple as depicted by our media. Many of the arab benefactor countries just want the 'Palestinian' issue to simmer down so they can deal with their own issues (including with Iran) and even make peace with Israel a la Abraham accords before team Kerry (who served in Vietnam btw)/Biden/Obama/Nuland got involved again…

In urban combat against an irregular force, when you're trying to minimize civilian deaths, 15 in a day isn't actually that bad. If Hamas weren't a bunch of brainless, inbred ****ups it could be worse. Each IDF loss is a bitter one, but they're absolutely doing Hamas in.

I think this was actually 14 KIA reported over 40 hours of combat because of the Shabbat. so it included more than just one day due to sabbath.

the men were from all different units which is good- that means it was not one major catastrophic attack but that multiple Israeli Brigades are advancing in different places and taking losses.

I did see reports that 5 were killed after Palestinian women were waving white flags, but that may be just rumors and propaganda.

I take glee in knowing that these ****s really thought that the international community would stop Israel well short of this and now they're watching Hamas get hammered day after day. The satisfaction of the nerd in the cafeteria who is also a black belt finally getting enough of the degenerate bully and ****ing him up while the whole school watches and admin yell "stop!" from a distance is fulfilling. Hamas and their supporters deserve zero sympathy.

I really do hope that there are people in Gaza with enough conscience to look back at their own actions and think "Maybe it was a bad idea to cheer on the rape of women and the torture of children if this lack of sympathy for us is the result of that." But realistically, I know better. They are incapable of understanding their own role in bringing this down upon themselves. Which means they won't learn any useful lesson from it.

I know some of the American woke neo-leftist types. Social media used to covered with Ukraine stuff and now has demands for a ceasefire (which they had and broke). I think they're even starting to come to grips with the reality that Hamas went way too far and the IDF is not going to stop until they're completely dismantled, scattered to the wind, and the earth where they stood is salted.

agreed. as time goes on and I see how the world is reacting to all of this, with almost 100% support for Hamas, I am more agreeable to them utterly razing the entirety of what is Gaza and reclaiming it entirely for Israel.

I am no friend to Israel as far as us providing them money or military support, but I utterly support them doing what they have to do for themselves. If that means crushing and removing all Palestinians from Israeli soil... they can go for it as far as I am concerned.

As more and more support for Hamas grows throughout the world the only way for Israel to keep itself safe is to take over the entirety of the Gaza Strip. Deport all the "Palestinians living there and send them over to the west bank."

Let the Palestinian Authority deal with them and try to reign them in. At least then Israel isn't sandwiched between the PA and Hamas.

Blows my mind that the world supports terrorism and the murder of children, but then again it's against the Jews. Absolutely nothing wrong with wiping out hamas, and even better if they wipe out their supporters, their progenitors, and their progeny. They SHOULD kill every last one of them and leave nothing left to take root. If but just Israel, but Jews in general, want to survive, they have to start wiping out those who would do the same without mercy. It means probably doing horrible things, but we've already seen that given the opportunity, those they're killing would do far worse. If it comes down to dread Israelis versus dead arabs or Muslims, that's an easy choice.

I would argue that they had a peaceful solution. Everything subsidized by Israel, city on the beach, no neighbors randomly lobbing rockets into their neighborhoods. But they let their hatred rule their actions and they threw away a peaceful existence by raping & murdering innocents.

They screwed up and should pay for it with their lives.

The key thing to keep in mind is that their top 3 folks are worth $11 billion. The hate machine they run is just a secondary component or tool in their grift. (Which is not too dissimilar to certain American politicians, fwiw).

(Edit: 11 billion).
