There is a real possibility Hamas will blow the hospital. Everyone would blame Israel.
There is a real possibility that Israel will blow the hospital. With Hamas using it, it is a legit military target and they know they are getting blamed for it anyway.

He should be kicked out of NATO if he does.

Interesting if true.

The Iranians and their proxies are absolutely detested by most all of the arab side of things, I believe, though generally only behind closed doors (when juxtaposed with anti-Israel etc.)

Also, this would I believe be the first (confirmed) combat employment of an F-35?

Seen this before, about Iran being so hated by its neighbors. I know why we do, but why the neighbors?

I suppose you can compare it to the small guy going to the bar with a bunch of friends that are all much bigger than him and starting **** with other big guys when it's not necessary and then expecting his bigger friends to bake him out.

Persian vs Arabs (they're not the same) and Sunni vs Shia are the 2 biggest reasons.

Sunni Vs Shia Islam and a fight over which branch are the legitimate form of the religion.

Also, on a more pragmatic front, Iran is bigtime into terrorism and political destabilization in the region and the rest of the nations they haven't already thrown into chaos much prefer remaining stable and making oil money.

Most of their neighbors are Sunnis and the Iranians are Shia. The Iranian Mullahs hate the Sunnis almost as much as they hate the Israelis and have funded and trained proxies to cause trouble with most of their Sunni neighbors. The Saudis, Jordanians, etc. see them as a destabilizing influence in the middle east as a whole and in some cases a direct threat to their own domestic stability.

The Persians (Iran) have traditionally looked down on the Arabs as sort of the poor country bumpkin relations - this has been going on for centuries.

imagine if there were 10,000 American hostages being held in tunnels in Nuevo Laredo and what the United States Army would be doing about it.

what is very strange about that battle map is that we have literally seen with our own eyes IDF tanks and troops surrounded by large buildings in Gaza

and yet on the map they are showing IDF forces in mostly sand dunes and unpopulated areas. I don't think it is correct.

I'm guessing it's intentional misdirection of some sort.

Israel needs to fully eradicate Hamas. Our prayers are with innocent on both side but evil must be searched out and destroyed and that is what is happening.

Hamas are modern day Nazis. They have to be ended.

I take the map as showing control, not areas they are operating but areas they control fully.

If the goal is to cut off the north and create a containment zone that makes a "safe" south and a hostile north the map makes sense. Push across, then block tunnels that would run north/south and allow retreat with "innocent civilians" and then start working back up north. This prevents them from having anywhere to run and be contained to the north by the Israeli border walls

Wonder how Hamas is storing their diesel?
Wonder if it's one large tank for each tunnel network. Maybe up a little higher than their lower positions to create a little centrifugal force for the fuel to flow to the generators?

Wish there was a way to scan for them and try to blow them up or somethingโ€ฆ

Given some of the fires I've seen on live cams after hits, I'm thinking Israel has nailed a few of their storage tanks.

Cannot verify, of course.

notice how many children you can hear 24 hours a day on these live video feeds from Gaza

no matter how many times the IDF drops leaflets begging civilians to move South.

Maybe Hamas was directing everyone to the side opposite of the leaflet suggestions and warnings? Or just ignored them?

Does anyone know if the IDF was watching from above what houses or buildings large amounts of food and supplies went to when the Egyptians delivered them? May have led to tunnel entry discoveries?

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/02/us/politics/biden-israel-gaza-fighting-pause.html

Quote:

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will urge the Israeli government to agree to a series of brief cessations of military operations in Gaza to allow for hostages to be released safely and for humanitarian aid to be distributed, White House officials said on Thursday.
. . .
I think this strategy would benefit Israel on multiple fronts since it doesn't appear to be ready to launch an all out invasion.

Israel is under pressure at home from the relatives of the hostages, and to a lesser extent (because it doesn't have much weight) from the PR onslaught abroad. Israel can continue its targeted strategy, while still being able to say it's allowing humanitarian relief for the citizens that evacuated in the South - while at the same time placating hostage families and allowing Israel to say its doing its best to get them out (both militarily and diplomatically). As long as Hamas dribbles out hostages each time there is a brief pause along with limited humanitarian relief, Israel can have its cake and eat it too (keeping the pressure on Hamas with only brief pauses, while still getting some of the hostages out).

We'll see if that's how it plays out. Israel is of course free to chart whatever path it sees fit.
