Unless they bought a nuclear weapon from Russian, they don't have one. A transaction of that magnitude would be noticed, by Mossad and others. Also, I don't think people understand the complexities of the physics and assembly of a nuclear weapon, not including a delivery mechanism.

Dirty bomb, yea, that would be a concern.

A. Who the hell is Dom Lucre and what about makes you think he knows anything about this situation?
B. Who's the guy in the video? How do we validate the translation? Does he actually have the stroke to cut off oil?

There is a part of me that thinks once Israel invades Gaza then hezbollah plans to attack from the north after Israel has spent missiles and focused on the ground attack of Gaza.

I would think so as well, but IDF already has forces massed on the border and we haven't seen Hezbollah make significant movements (though I could have missed them). I think that ship has sailed.

They should just pipe cyanide gas throughout it then use flamethrowers and explosives.

On any geography? As in Lebanon, Syria and Egypt?

That's a far cry from what LBJ did in 1967, reining in the Israelis who were on a roll into Syria and into Egypt. The Syrian and Egyptian militaries were Soviet armed and trained beforehand. The Soviet leadership were convinced the IDF could not fight on a two front war in 1967 because of their arms. training and superior numbers in men and materiel. But those troops were inept, undisciplined and were quickly overrun by the smaller IDF forces. (Foreshadowing, perhaps?)

i seriously doubt that much carte blanche has been given to Netanyahu.

It doesn't have to be, anymore, with expendable unmanned suicide/armed drones. That's one of the other theories (beyond the Saudi deal with Israel, US election next year, Ukraine war, etc) as to why this was urgent.

If the Israeli's keep getting better and better at drones/AI a la Ukraine-Russia too then the 'resistance' methods (of war crimes) with tunnels etc. won't work well much longer. And it's not just little drones, but the AI stuff with facial recognition to spot terrorists/persons in a crowd. A lot of that is scary from a '1984' perspective here but it could be a real asset in a place like Israel surrounded/inclusive of a sub-population of murderous scum.

Id assume that also means Iran too. I can see a few high value Iranian officials getting Mossad-ed here in short order.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a few senior Hamas folks in Qatar fall out of windows or get their cars hosed down by gunmen.

Israel has already said they can use videos and hamas terrorists cell phone data to locate every terrorist who came into Israel on Saturday. They have already started targeting them. I'm sure a lot of it is done using state of the art facial recognition software amongst other methods.

Yeah but those would be covert. No need to announce those in advance, was my point.

Guess we'll see how many Hamas leader's bodies pile up around the ME in the next few weeks. Might be worse than Jimmy Conway rolling up loose ends after the Luthansa heist.

Israelis bombing Iran? Completely different matter.

I'd tell the UN to get out of the way by choice or by force. Their choice.

They have no business in any country.

I understand, but next level is sort of akin to (as a random example) a secret service agent scanning a crowd for a scowling face/other tell tale signs of a hostile actor. I respect Israeli security measures/technology, yet expect it to become vastly more sophisticated as their AI technologies advance, at a logarithmic pace, if you will.

They have announced public plans, but the secret futuristic stuff is a little ways off. "Facebook for Palestinians" or "Blue wolf" are largely precursors of a future state with vastly more cameras/surveillance networked together.

China uses it maliciously to require social credit scores to be high enough for certain things (like leaving your tiny assigned 5-minute city or purchasing certain products), or even companies of course, but I think Israel will (initially at least) use it for security purposes from moslems.

In any case, the differences and similarities to what Israel and China adapt in 10 years will be fascinating, should both continue to exist…
