That's a far cry from what LBJ did in 1967, reining in the Israelis who were on a roll into Syria and into Egypt. The Syrian and Egyptian militaries were Soviet armed and trained beforehand. The Soviet leadership were convinced the IDF could not fight on a two front war in 1967 because of their arms. training and superior numbers in men and materiel. But those troops were inept, undisciplined and were quickly overrun by the smaller IDF forces. (Foreshadowing, perhaps?)
i seriously doubt that much carte blanche has been given to Netanyahu.

Israel has already said they can use videos and hamas terrorists cell phone data to locate every terrorist who came into Israel on Saturday. They have already started targeting them. If the Israeli's keep getting better and better at drones/AI a la Ukraine-Russia too then the 'resistance' methods (of war crimes) with tunnels etc. won't work well much longer. And it's not just little drones, but the AI stuff with facial recognition to spot terrorists/persons in a crowd. A lot of that is scary from a '1984' perspective here but it could be a real asset in a place like Israel surrounded/inclusive of a sub-population of murderous scum.
