I never served, but I had a friend that deployed in desert storm and he told me about an engagement he had with these folks.

He called his commander and asked for permission to fire. Commander asked him what was going on. My friend said, a guy is f***ing a goat in the back of a truck. Right or wrong my friend was told to stand down and not fire unless fired upon.

To his credit, my friend asked one more time for permission to fire. He was denied the opportunity to send that dude to his hole and his glory.

I suspect Hamas will attempt to keep civilians from migrating south. They need this to be full of collateral damage. Civilians make use easier to hard among.
