Back to the topic.

I've done numerous controlled burns on my ranch. This is the Hill Country so the terrain, soil, and over course, vegetation, vary greatly. We've done burns from 20 acres to 400+. I've been on burns in South Texas that much larger, thousands of acres torched.

Rarely do I ever lose an oak tree. Once the fuel around the oaks burns out, the bark and leaves may get a little toasty but typically the tree is fine. Now, park a car where the flames come through and it will probably burn down to the body and frame for what should be pretty obvious reasons.

So many factors involved in how hot a fire burns, which direction it moves, and how random it can be. Air temperature, humidity, wind, and drought being the biggest factors. It doesn't surprise me at all to see a car or a building burnt to ashes and palm tree just ten feet away relatively unscathed. Keep in mind, the palm tree is basically a sponge full of water while the car is a box filled with flammable materials, chemicals, and fuels.

I don't see any basis for conspiracy here. This is just democrat incompetence in a 100% democrat controlled place. Of course the media will downplay as needed. They're protecting their team.

One other thing. Not unlike palm trees, human bodies are not easily incinerated, because they are mostly water too with no accelerants. If there huge numbers of missing children that died in the fires it would take a massive cover up to keep the pics of the corpses from getting out there. This was a wildfire that got out of control, not Dresden.

Read an article about a historic home on Front Street that didn't burn.

The couple that recently renovated it replaced the roof with a metal one, and installed a three-foot rock bed around the perimeter to help prevent water and termite damage.

Fire experts say those things made the difference, protecting the house from burning embers.

Nah man, they are obviously in on the plan and weren't targeted by the laser.

That leads into my earlier post….

If a prescribed/"controlled" fire with parameters for temperature, wind speed, wind direction, humidity, etc….., with blacklines/fire guards, with a plan for head fires, flanking fires, etc….. with documented fuel loads….. can make one scratch his head for strange stuff happening, what about:

  • A fire driven by 60 mph gusty winds
  • A fire driven by 60 mph gusty winds that are shifting (hurricanes do that either a little or a lot)
  • Fires ripping through brush and abandoned farmland vs urban landscapes
  • The above fires creating backfires, flanking fires, horrible head fires, and unimaginable fire whirls.

Yeah, I'm not hanging my hat on "Oprah's Magic Fire Reta**ant Dust for Future Development" keeping a tree alive. I'm going with "God and wind direction kept that tree alive".
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

The Will Cain Podcast about the Maui fire dated today (September 27) is pretty telling on what happened. His family was there. The interview with the survivor I am listening to now as I write this is shocking.

He talks about the stupid Kelce Swift rumors, but then he gets into the Maui fire. He talks about how the fire started, stories, and I got more information from that podcast than all the news articles I've read on it.

For those interested in learning more about prescribed fire burns and have additional questions for Texas.

This link is Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, Natural Resources "Guest Author" good article & group and nice pics my old employer.

Lot more goes into prescribed burns than one would believe.
