Good morning again from Maui, where residents are being ROYALLY screwed by local, state, and federal governments.

There are COUNTLESS important issues to note, but here are just a handful:

1. The town of Lahaina is being INCREASINGLY fortified, and there are police & military checkpoints at literally every corner

2. Residents are starting to become literally impoverished due to all the shutdowns.

3. The government has put TENS OF THOUSANDS of people out of work and countless people are about to be forced into bankruptcy.

4. Federal aid is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get.

5. THE GOVERNMENT STILL WON'T DISCLOSE THE AMOUNT OF CHILDREN MISSING OR DEAD.

6. The "official" number of people missing keeps changing and seems to be based on TOTAL LIES.

7. RESIDENTS ARE LITERALLY BEING ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTING TO VISIT THEIR OWN HOMES.

MARK MY WORDS: We WILL get to the bottom of all this. I'm putting together a team of local residents & journalists to make it happen.

WHAT IS THE GOVERNMENT HIDING?

WHY DO THEY KEEP LYING TO THE GREAT PEOPLE OF MAUI?

*** I want to know YOUR thoughts, and and what YOU want to know about the situation on the ground here on Maui.

Good Morning X-Land. Waking up to Oprah scamming for money the result of which will never go to the citizens of Maui. In the blink of an eye she will own everything. This lady nails it.

With a fire hot enough to melt aluminum alloy wheels and glass, why are so many trees still standing? Shouldn't those be charred stumps?

Sure seems fishy AF.

Already a paradise controlled by Dimtards and easy to usurp by the ultra wealthy.

This is the game plan for the elites cherry picking what they want. It wont go this easy in places like Texas, but never trust a Dim.

A disaster like this would normally garner attention from the MSM for 3-4-6 months. We literally see and hear NOTHING about it. WTF

No, not really. Our place in Wyoming 85 percent of it burned. Tree trunk and branches were widespread.

The silver linings on our place was the grass that came back after the fire had a very high protein content, and attracted lots of wildlife. The trees without leaves removed the cover for elk also.

1) Mass emergency management incompetence a huge factor in this disaster

2) Not a single Republican to blame for said incompetence

3) LOT of kids are probably dead and we can't have that info available in an election year.

4) Wealthy Leftists looking to take advantage of this disaster to grift charity and steal land.

All of which means MSM has zero interest in this and want you to forget it ever happened ASAP

A billionaire and a near billionaire asking the common folk for money to help the locals that they are about to take land from. Oh the irony.

Oh, for those idiots that dont believe that this is a land grab, look up how and how much Oprah paid for her land on Maui. Then look up the non-profit the Maui fund she is promoting with the Rock actually goes. This is all for show. All of it.

Yeah, it's not like the fire was in Tokyo or London. Not that many people where this fire was. They know if it is close to 300 or close to 500, certainly within a dozen or so.

Who was it that said,"Never let a crisis go to waste."?
I think it was a grifter and somebody in the Democratic Party leadership, who by the way was quoting Saul Alinsky.

Hhmm. Pines? They have been known to explode from the pine tar inside. Basically burn from the inside out. And pine needles are not hard to ignite, even green ones.

Without revealing too much can you tell which region in Wyoming your place is located? Been watching a 40 year botanist who started investigating wildfires about 15 years ago and has studied most major fires in California, Washington and Oregon. He has very specific knowledge about which species are fire conducive and which are not. See if I can find it. (Not endorsing his opinions just that he has done a lot of legwork on the subject.)

This.

Generally when there is an incompetent government response to a disaster, the MSM playbook is to go up the chain until they find the first republican, and then hang it around their neck. In this case, there isn't one, from the locals all the way to the White House.

Seriously? Don't hang your hat on freakish occurrences. Strange things happen in brushfires. I've seen limestone rock split and living cedar reduced to holes in the ground, and a short distance away live oak and cedar showed no horrible impact. A puff of breeze, an updraft, an odd slope……. all it takes.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

All this talk of pine trees igniting has made me want to hit the woods in search of lighter pine, aka fatwood. We have some old growth pine areas and all you have to do is find an old stump. Had a small fire started by lightning and it reached a few old stumps rich with fatwood. Burned holes four or five feet in the ground.

Found it. Forget the DEW stuff as that is very highly unsupported, just listen to his knowledge about different species of trees and how they are conducive and how others are not as conducive.

Because they aren't allowed into the fire zone. And large black fences have been erected to keep them from filming the aftermath?

There is no Russel (Don't get stuck on stupid) Honore in charge. Although there should be. Did you there is a Joint Task Force assembled in Oahu on ready alert, waiting for orders to go? Orders which have not come down yet.

My wife's cousin lives in Maui but in Kihei well away from the fires, still it is devastating there. Previously she lived in NYC during 9/11 and had an apartment where she saw people jumping from the towers so she moved away due to the trauma of it. She's had some bad luck being around tragedy.

As for this it's all Democrats in Hawaii and in the Federal government so they aren't going to talk about it. It's like Pravda.

#3 The population of Lahaina was ~12,000 as of the 2020 census, not all of them working adults. The government didn't put tens of thousands out of work. The FIRE did destroy a lot of businesses where those locals may or may not have worked.

#4. Federal Aid is always difficult to get. Combine the fact that no one is home (their homes are gone) and the incompetence of the feds in general, trying to link up federal aid workers with home owners, who may have left the area, equals no one gets any aid, assuming they qualify, any time soon.

A friends home flooded during Harvey in Houston. He had 18" of water in his home. It was two months before he saw anyone from FEMA and they gave him like $1,500 and said see ya. And HE WAS BACK IN HIS HOME fixing it by that point. If he hadn't been home I'm guessing he'd have seen nothing.

#7 Are people being arrested for visiting there home, or are they out after curfew ( I'm assuming there is one) when they're supposed to be inside or out of the area?
