Shall I post where Trump has referred to him as those things? It's a simple question.... when Trump refers to DeSantis as a globalist or a groomer, or an elitist.... is he telling the truth? And if you believe he is, how can you support DeSantis? And if he's lying about **** like that, how can you support Trump?

It's not a tough concept.

He showed a picture of him partying with kids drinking liquor back when he was these kids teacher. Teachers
Partying with their students doesn't necessarily mean he's grooming them, but that may meet others' definition.

Here is DeSantis in global trade
https://desantisresearchbook.com/en/home/trade-tariffs-china

Ron DeSantis voted to give President Obama "fast-track" authority, which was viewed as a support for the TPP.
Fast-track legislation was opposed by labor unions. Now, he says he's against it, another flip flop. In his recent book, DeSantis hinted that he had changed his perspective on foreign policy and modeled it on Trump's "America First" agenda. https://www.upward.news/desantiss-past-support-for-obamas-global-trade-deal-raises-questions-on-policy/

While expressing support for Trump broadly, DeSantis expressed skepticism about Trump-era tariffs on steel and aluminum.

DeSantis said he had opposed tariffs throughout his congressional career. yet he says he would now consider using them against Mexico. Another flip flop

So I don't know if he's a globalist or not as it appears even he doesn't know.

Both Annie and I have said we'd vote for whoever wins the nomination. Only a severe case of TDS would equate that to a grooming globalist.
I prefer DeSantis over Trump, but I agree he was not as aggressive with protectionism as Trump was. I don't think that tariffs on commodities are all that helpful, but where Trump shined the brightest was judge nominations, and bringing manufacturing/service support jobs back to the US.

I think that DeSantis' key to winning the nomination is going to be effectively communicating how Florida handled COVID compared to the rest of the country. Fauchi was a HUGE, BIGLY mistake by Trump. It's a tightrope, he has to attack Trump without overtly attacking Trump on that issue.

I say that at some point, likely the first debate especially if Trump actually nuts up and shows, Desantis needs to take the gloves off regarding COVID. While Trump plays games with juvenile nicknames and insults Desantis needs to calmly but vigorously retort by directly hammering Trump with his cowing to Faucci.
I agree.

It's a dangerous topic, and will have to be handled carefully but directly. But it's where DeSantis shined in Florida, and where Trump failed in DC.

I am for Trump %. He did nothing wrong and was attacked by treasonous persons starting with Obama. It is a question of honor, pride, and integrity. Obama and his group should be in jail.

Trump (1:20): "Unlike the establishment globalists in this race, I've been an unwavering warrior for Iowa ethanol."

What percentage of F16 posters are now labeled "establishment globalists" for opposing government ethanol mandates and subsidies?
This is where Trump loses me. Farmers should be growing food for consumption not for energy.

10% ethanol is robbing Texas refineries of 10% of production.

No it's not - the energy content of ethanol is much less than refinery gasoline, and it takes a fair amount of fossil fuel to produce and move the corn and convert it to ethanol. Add in the special handling, loss of blended gas shelf life, and increased maintenance, and ethanol is a loser all around. I would know that even if I lived in Iowa.

How is it we only have desantis the ftard and trump the child as our only two candidates? Who the f is leading this party? The other party is full of whiny people and these two is all we have? Can we just have a normal potential candidate just once? Someone that actually listens to others and not think they are the smartest in the room?

Republicans are becoming more and more controlling and hypocrites of their own beliefs, and we need a readjustment on our views. Stop letting religious views with no sound thinking behind it dictating our views. For a bunch of people who believe in freedoms how much they want to interfere with others same freedoms.

CM spotted. DeSantis is in no way an ftard.

How is he not an ftard? Are you suggesting he's worse?

Dude, quit trolling. Your faux concern for the republican party isn't fooling anyone.

It's real concern. I have religious nut bags telling me how I should live my life. Desantis being a hypocrite by following the Middle East religious playbook as control. Trump is not a leader. All of the fear of pedo left is really coming from the right.

The republicans do not care about kids despite being religious and saying they care. They would rather blame kids for being in an f'd situation at no fault of their own but somehow it is. Education isn't important and just being kind nice people that actually help without a faux politeness isn't possible. Karens are republicans. Privileged housewives are republicans. Business men with little misbehaving adult children are republicans.

I have a huge concern with the Republican Party and the direction they are going. Taxes aren't helping, and their policies increase costs across the board

So you are annoyed that normal people have had it with all of the liberal BS?

I think the problem with this analysis is it seems to act as though tariffs are the only thing that matters. Trump loves tariffs and used them with some success for sure. DeSantis has stated repeatedly he doesn't oppose using them but just sees them as one of the tools in the tool chest and they are a blunt tool. Trump loved to just say, "Do what I want or I'll drop a monster tariff on you" to negotiate for instance.

There are many ways to obtain different objectives and DeSantis does have experience here. He served on Foreign Relations for 6 years and negotiated a lot of foreign deals with industry as Governor of Florida. He's certainly more nuanced than Trump but in the end the results are what matter.

I think it is fair to say that Trump is stronger on Trade and Foreign Policy overall due to his track record, it was one of the strongest parts of his Presidency. DeSantis has a solid record and rhetoric too though so he is no Globalist/Bush/Neocon.

BTW, he is going to roll out more details on this tomorrow in NH but here is a preview:

Ok, but Trump is going to lose and give you a Democrat for the next 4 years. He has no path and no money with growing problems that are terminal. He has absolutely been unfairly treated and prosecuted but the bigger problem he has is he actually did break some laws. You can point at Obama and Biden all you want but Trump did break some laws by all the facts I have seen even if they are minor. While totally unfair that's all that will matter in the end and he will be convicted. The Democrats have checkmated him. They also have an easy backup plan with Newsom if the stink gets too big with Biden and they will likely pull that out, Granholm is another possibility. They are both complete scumbags but none of the Obama/Biden or Trump stuff applies to them and they will get the voters who are just tired of all of it.

DeSantis has a real plan for reform, holding those people accountable, and has said he will pardon Trump. Think carefully about what it is you really want because a protest vote for Trump only helps Democrats.

It's too bad they don't just run together and then that leads the way for DeSantis for 2028 & 2032.

Don't count that out
Aren't they both legal residents of Florida, so they can't be on the same ticket, or is Trump still registered in NY?

Legally it doesn't matter where they live. Usually you pick VP based on which state he/she can help secure.

I think there is a risk that…if they were on the ticket the Florida electors wouldn't be able to vote for them, despite…obviously winning Florida. From snopes (yeah yeah, I know, leftist rag but it comes up first):

Quote:

Article II of the Constitution (as well as the Twelfth Amendment, which modified it) specified that electors must "vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves," a requirement that guaranteed at least half of each state's electoral votes would be cast for candidates from other states.

This requirement is still in effect today, but confusion arises when people misunderstand it to govern the actions of candidates rather than electors. Nothing in the constitution bars presidential and vice-presidential candidates from the same state from running, being elected, or holding office together; it only bars the electors from their home state from voting for both of them.
Probably don't want to risk some sort of legal hissy fit from the communists if Trump does somehow win, where the electors from Florida couldn't vote for him in a close election.

Not sure how any conservative can watch these two and conclude Trump is the way forward. DeSantis is the future and if we don't embrace that soon, we lost again bigly.
