I don't follow modern music but I didn't think Jason was conservative, he pandered to the left for a while and then his wife became vocal about conservative issues. My guess is he saw ratings climb and went with it

yeah; I'm sure the music video director was well-aware of this lynching from 103 years ago when he or she chose that spot to shoot part of the video and I'm sure every thieving/mugging/assaulting/car jacking/shooting/rioting/arsonist on the streets in our cities who ever see this country music video will immediately have their feelings hurt when they see imagery of a courthouse in a town in Tennessee.

I don't recall Jason Aldean ever pandering to the Left. He's always leaned on the whole 'small town' country vibe. The first time I ever heard anything political about him was because of his wife, who other left-leaning country artists mocked for her support of Trump. He hasn't really been political with any of his music...unlike other artists like Taylor Swift and Jason Isbell who started pandering in some of their music after Trump got elected.

Jason Andean hasn't had a song that resonates with small town America since Amarillo Sky, and even that was a reach.

However, his stance that 'this wouldn't happen in a small town' is pretty spot on. BLM and ANTIFA wreak havoc in the cities because the city leadership won't do squat to stop them, but when your mayor also owns the local hardware store and the Chief of Police has a side gig mowing lawns for both residential and commercial properties, they do something. If they don't, they allow others to do something and turn a blind eye.

Small towns aren't immune to corruption, it's actually rampant, but they know not to kill the golden goose, I.e. the local businesses.

Aldean may not be traditional country, but he sounds a lot closer to traditional country than many of the new country artists today.

Speaking of traditional country, if you've never checked out Tracey Lawrence's podcast....I highly recommend it. He's interviewed a lot of the 90's country stars. More recently he's interviewed some of the younger artists on his tour bus.

Here's the one with Jason Aldean. I enjoyed it. And you definitely see a lot of Tracey's personal world views come out, but he does it in really fun, playful, way.

So the artist who did this, Dustin Christensen, is poking fun at himself because one of his fans created a montage of the line 'I'm still parked out by the lake' from one of his songs. He's an independent singer-songwriter in Nashville. But the album the original song comes off of has some really good music. I prefer his sound over most of what's coming out from major labels of multiple genre's these days.

Aldean is a NTAC. This song just fits in with the other terrible songs he releases.
