This is fact. Also, HEB is pretty woke, too but I give them more slack because at least they're Texan. The Hill Country Fair version of Doritos are better than the name brand and Clancy's (Aldi brand) barbecue chips are significantly better than Lays.

I cannot speak for Fritos grease but Cadbury chocolate in the UK has an animal fat in them that is not used in the United States, which allows for a creamier, milkier taste that in my opinion blows away anything to ever come out of the US.

There also seems to be a big push for frying the fries (chips) in beef tallow and I have seen it on more than a couple of menus. Good stuff. Best was some popcorn yesterday that was popped using beef tallow then sprinkled with meat seasoning. Like eating puffy bites of steak.

I imagine at some point the corn contingency lobbied to make changes in the FDA kabash using animal fats in favor of their corn-based products.

McDonald's changed from beef fat, iirc, in the 90s. Their fries were MUCH better with the fat than the current veggie oil.

If I recall correctly, when I was in Spain in the mid-1990s they used olive oil to fry the fries, which made for a less greasy fry that was also very good.

Leftist vegans have also sued McDonalds repeatedly for trying to have any animal flavoring in their fries. Another reason to hate leftist and vegans.
