I would be equally as pissed about discriminating against blacks and hispanics as I would Asians...even though my daughter is half asian/half white, making her very likely to be racially discriminated against. Racial discrimination is wrong, period. You know how many parents of Asians came over here dirt poor or working class? LOTS. But they sacrificed and worked their tails off and focused on academics over other things to increase their likelihood of EARNING a spot based on merit and achievements. No Spin Ag said:Brittmoore Car Club said:Where did anyone say women can't get abortions in certain states? Any American woman can still get an abortion in America, she'll just need to take a vacation destination state to do it.
Universities will still bring in the same number of minorities, they'll just use different ways of doing it that are legal.
Facts
Also, universities better be VERY careful how they creatively craft new ways to discriminate against Asians based on race. There is no legal way for them to do it. And if the number of Asians doesn't go up, while number of blacks go down, at least to some degree, it will be a big tell. They better tread lightly....now the focus is on them and i can't imagine the class action lawsuits from deserving Asians who sacrificed and busted their asses their entire lives to go to the best schools in America now that this has been ruled upon.
You and No Spin seem pretty "triggered" by that meme, which I find to be pretty accurate. Not sure why it bothers you. Which one are you against? Leaving abortion up to states, or not being able to discriminate against Asians.
Triggered? Please. I'm just stating the obvious.
I'm glad the court didn't make abortions illegal across the country and said that states that want to, can still provide abortions to women who want them. It was as even a decision as possible. Good court.
I'm glad Asians will have a better chance at getting into universities. But, again, that'll be up to the universities and their own policies. And seeing as how universities aren't exactly conservative bastions, I'm sure they'll pay out the nose to hire the best lawyers possible to make sure they'll be fine in running their schools how they feel is best.
But it is good to see the concern for the minority Asian population. Now to see if that same concern for one's higher education hope goes to those that aren't considered "white adjacent" like Hispanics and African Americans.
Discriminating against qualified Asians to admit unqualified or less qualified blacks and hispanics is wrong. I think some of you just don't see it that way because you are black are hispanic...which, if we're all playing by the same rules here, actually makes YOU the racist, whether knowingly or not.
Also, the universities can hire all the lawyers they want...there are equally capable lawyers waiting on the sidelines just salivating, hoping they can catch them using discriminatory practice and assemble a ma$$ive class action lawsuit. A very close eye will be kept on these schools after this.
