Today's Supreme Court ruling that affirmative action is now dead on arrival is all because of Donald Trump and there's nothing you can do about it.

You can bash the guy all you want, and that's fine. You can bash me all you want and that's even more fun. Bring it on today's ruling is because of his presidency.

Trumps presidency doesn't happen if McConnell doesn't hold off Obama's nomination for scalias seat. Without that carrot for republicans Hillary would have been the president.

But much of this board thinks McConnell is something lower than human excrement
Just because McConnell did something right doesn't excuse the rest of his faults.

I'm sure a lot of drug lords are great dads.

. . .

Thankful forever. And glad that God removed RBG in his timing to give us true majority.

But then you'd have to think it was God who removed Scalia during Obama's term just to toy with you or test your faith.

Best not attribute anything you want happening (e.g. the death of an old lady) to God making it so unless that's what faith is really all about.

But who knows, maybe it was the almighty who struck RBG down in a fit of pique because he wanted a domestic political party in one of hundreds of countries to have a majority on a court. He's could be offing folks in courts all over the world for all I know.

1. yes it is his only and lasting legacy (the court).

2. he still sucks and should not be president again. we all deserve better.

but do not get ahead of yourself, dear consultant since you ran in here with your inflammatory OP and chest thumping vs those you imply are anti-Trump. there are many easy work-arounds universities can implement to achieve the same outcome witout being overt about it. The MSM is already lining those up and breaking them down for everyone to see.
and because Trump sucks so bad as a politician and candidate and leader-

the Biden Administration or the Newsome Administration in 2026 will simply appoint Justices who will overturn yesterday's decision.

but keep styling- it's what all the Trump folks do best.

This was a result of good Trump. Imagine what Trump could have done if he was actually conservative and wasn't an ahole... such a wasted opportunity.

Gosh, if he had just been conservative he could have had global peace, economic prosperity, border security and good S Ct justices. Wait.. .
Also, if he had been conservative, maybe we wouldn't have spent so much damn money and kicked off the insane inflation we have (yes, he shares blame for that). Maybe we wouldn't have had Fauci blowing smoke up our asses for years and have the vaccine HE WAS PUSHING be fast tracked.

Yesterday was a win for the country, but guess what, he isn't in office. So we can benefit from the good things he did, suffer through the things he got wrong, and still choose a better option.

If you thing Trump sucked as president, what do you thing about the current administration? I get that a lot of folks just don't like Trump, but be honest about the policies he put in place as president. His policies as president were great for the USA. I don't care at all about his personality, although I think it is good for dealing with tyrants around the world. Best president of my 75 year life. Trump 2024!

Where did anyone say women can't get abortions in certain states? Overturning Roe and leaving it up to states was the win.

Also, universities better be VERY careful how they creatively craft new ways to discriminate against Asians based on race. There is no legal way for them to do it. And if the number of Asians doesn't go up, while number of blacks go down, at least to some degree, it will be a big tell. They better tread lightly....now the focus is on them and i can't imagine the class action lawsuits from deserving Asians who sacrificed and busted their asses their entire lives to go to the best schools in America now that this has been ruled upon.

You and No Spin seem pretty "triggered" by that meme, which I find to be pretty accurate. Not sure why it bothers you. Which one are you against? Leaving abortion up to states, or not being able to discriminate against Asians.

Trump did not know or care about Supreme Court justices, so he went with a list given to him. Yay, Trump! Thank God he was given a good list. That doesn't make Trump the best president ever, it means we got lucky. He did some good things, yep, also he helped give us what we have now - a vegetable puppet run by insane leftists. Boo, Trump!

You can't only accept the positive consequences of anything. Every action has consequences that are good and not so good. Trump was way better of an option than Clinton or Biden, but you can't expect that someone with Trump's issues is not going to have negative consequences. We see what those are now, and it would have been better had we gone with Cruz, and would be better in the future if we go with someone else. It is okay to admit that maybe wife #1 was a mistake. We had some good times, but after all the BS, we know better.

I have no issue thanking Trump for his nominations. They have turned out well. It's definitely his most lasting legacy but even then it isn't permanent, this is a war that doesn't end.

I also have zero doubt that had Cruz won they would have been at least as conservative and is DeSantis wins they will likely be even more conservative. Trump would hopefully continue to appoint conservatives as well, no reason to think otherwise.

Thus the key is going to be who can win in '24 because either DeSantis or Trump because winning is what will matter most.

Triggered? Please. I'm just stating the obvious.

I'm glad the court didn't make abortions illegal across the country and said that states that want to, can still provide abortions to women who want them. It was as even a decision as possible. Good court.

I'm glad Asians will have a better chance at getting into universities. But, again, that'll be up to the universities and their own policies. And seeing as how universities aren't exactly conservative bastions, I'm sure they'll pay out the nose to hire the best lawyers possible to make sure they'll be fine in running their schools how they feel is best.

But it is good to see the concern for the minority Asian population. Now to see if that same concern for one's higher education hope goes to those that aren't considered "white adjacent" like Hispanics and African Americans.

Good Trump was how tenacious he was in fighting for the campaign promises he made. He absolutely did that. Getting conservative justices seated on the USSC was one of those promises and he came through.

That said, we really lucked out on timing for a one term president getting the opportunity to nominate three. Anyone know if that has happened before?

Imagine how horrible it would be had Obama gotten his way, or Hillary had filled those vacant seats, or Biden.
