Did the executive and judicial branch have carte blanche in one of the most high profile cases of all time?

You'd think those involved would have known that what they were about to do would inevitably be under the highest level of scrutiny and would have followed the letter of the law. But that doesn't seem to be the case here.

It seems like Plan A was to just 'do whatever you want and we'll put it all under seal on the basis of national security.'

Does that look like what happened here, or no?

Read the brief.

The raid never should have happened in the first place. So she's absolutely right that authority to use lethal force against a former President and his family was improvidently authorized.

You seem to insist on avoiding the forest for the trees here. Based on recently unsealed briefing, it's apparent that the government used an illegal investigation and a fraudulent warrant affidavit to get a facially defective and illegal warrant to conduct a raid that they already knew they didn't need.

But, uh, ok…that's apparently all just standard FBI procedure?

The FBI wasn't searching for just any random classified documents they were searching for Crossfire Hurricane documents that could hurt them. They were willing to do whatever it takes to obtain them and if they were stopped or resisted they would green light whoever was behind the counter resistance. All that talk of DoD paperwork was just a smokescreen for their real objective.

Bongino is talking about this right now. The Secret Service LET them in with guns, when they could have lawfully made them leave their guns behind. There's apparently NO situation where anyone (ANYONE) with a gun can legally get anywhere near a current or former President. The SS always has the upper-hand in these situations

Well, Trump wasn't there. But it was an egregious fascist move by people who never thought some of this info would see the light of day.

The NARA guy should be tried for sedition, as should Jack Smith and Merrick Garland.

Lots of people (especially Garland) should be facing a firing squad over what they've been doing to Trump, his family, and his voters/supporters, over the past 8-9 years.

Trump also needs to round up his protective detail to lay down the law.
