I think it's the opposite. He's there to dilute the field. The more candidates there are, the better it is for Trump. See 2016. Cruz would have one had Rubio and Kasich dropped earlier.

I think Christie is running to help Trump. I also think there is a chance that Christie will be Trump's VP. He is who Trump wanted as VP until Jared had a hissy fit. I don't think Ivanka and Jared will be as involved this go around, so probably frees Trump to bring on Christie as his VP.

I am praying you are correct but that is not what he did in 2016

instead he took out Marco Rubio in the debates and never went after Trump

I can see that he plays the same role here going after DeSantis and leaving Trump alone

especially if Trump is too chicken to even participate in debates.

Ivanka and Jared put out a press release the day Trump announced back in November 2022

that they would play NO ROLE at all in the campaign or in any government service

I wonder why?
