Of all the people in the GOP field, think I despise him the most. This tub of goo is a POS. Be it the bridge fiasco or closing the beaches and then showing up on the beach. He's a crooked, fat POS. Can't believe he's got any money at all backing him.

He must be seeing that he has a chance to be a serious contender since Desantis isn't leading Trump, at least last I heard.

Thing is, he has no lane that isn't already taken. Plus, if he's trying to get the moderates, there's others who weren't attached to the hip with Trump that have a better chance, since moderates want nothing Trump or Trump adjacent. And if he's trying to win the maga vote, the OG maga is running.

This is pointless for him.

Yup.

The Trumpkins will die voting for Trump, so if the establishment can dilute the rest of the vote away from DeSantis, they know they can get the nomination to Trump, which will then ensure the next Dem victory.

The GOP Establishment absolutely despises Trump just as much as Dems.

At this point that's the only thing that makes any sense. Trump and DeSantis are sucking up all the money and endorsements for the most part. Whatever "Moderate" lane is there is easily taken by Haley and Scott.

FWIW I think there is at least a 25% chance that Trump has a health issue that knocks him out of the race and at his age that may be low. Not to mention the legal stuff. A health issue probably gives Trump the honorable way out. If he loses straight up or the legal stuff gets him it's going to be an ugly thing to see.

Don't ever underestimate the ego it takes to be a politician at that level. If he's running, he thinks he has a path. Ego over rules altruism for any Presidential candidate.

Christie had so much promise once. Something happened behind the scenes that broke him.

I think he could be a good asset inside of a competent administration.
