The logic is just astounding. Look, if Trump is SO awesome and he is going to win SO huge then why do you care?
I just wish that the Trump supporters would actually make real arguments as to why Trump is going to be a better President than DeSantis instead of pushing polls and saying we need to have DeSantis drop out, have no debates, and preferably start giving our money to Trump for his legal bills.

Here is a fun question for you Aggie93: Is Trump a considerable better Presidential option than Biden?
I believe your answer is yes based on your previous replies. Yet many of your DeSantis crew mates have convinced themselves that that answer is no. Do you not find that ridiculous? Do you not think that is worth engaging on? You certainly believe differently yet you don't comment against. Why is that?
Trump and DeSantis have a policy overlap of over 90+%. Biden and DeSantis have a policy overlap of likely 15%. 4 years of Trump would setup a better state for DeSantis in 2028 then 4 years of Biden. So in 2028 if you vote for Trump in 2024 conservative policies are better off. It is utter madness to think otherwise.Phatbob said:What exactly is your goal here? Why would conservatives NOT vote for Trump? Because THIS is the kind of crap he drives people to do.
Some fun context to counter this. G. W. Bush, Jeb Bush (if Trump hadn't won 2016 primary this was the likely guy), McCain and Romney in recent memory were all the competent non-middle finger administrator candidates brought to you by the republican party. All of them hurt conservatism far more than Trump did. Unless you suffer from TDS...Phatbob said:
I'll put it in smaller words then. It's about being an incompetent administrator. So much so, that the trade-offs we have for him NOT being conservative aren't worth it, and he is a detriment to the office, and we will be in a worse place with him in it. Trump is Fredo.
That doesn't make him as bad as Biden, but voting for him has consequences for every other election that comes after. There is a lesson to be learned, and that is don't nominate middle fingers as candidates, it screws us all. A non-vote for president is saying no to both, because neither of them should be in the position they are in.

We don’t need their support. Their influence is nonexistent & they represent an extremely tiny faction of the establishment GOP that we won without in 2016 & 2020

So DeSantis has a chance yes, and if I had a 12% chance of winning the republican nomination, I would stay in too. But it is unlikely, and 4 out of 5 times Trump will win the nomination.
What I wouldn't do is spew vitriol over and disparage the likely republican nominee. Many on this board detest Trump, but the alternative which is an incapacitated Biden.

If i said i will either cut off your leg or punch you in the stomach and you said well I'm not going to vote because getting punched in the stomach is bad so I'm indifferent than that is stupid. It is objectively beyond all measure that Trump is better than Biden for the poster and especially for most Americans. There is not arguing against that.
This is your opinion and apparently not one shared by more than half of the country, and you have no idea if he's better than Biden for that poster or if who is president has any material impact on his daily life at all. Much like FireAg, Trumpers definitely seem to be confused by this whole fact vs opinion thing.
Is that what I said? Or, did I say you have no idea if that poster's life was better, worse or basically unchanged by whichever of those two morons are in office?
Also, to the point of this thread - if you think Biden is a giant disaster then nominating the person who already lost to him once (when there's a great option staring you in the face) is a pretty terrible idea.
As to your second point, I don't take a few history data points and project to know the future perfectly.

Cold dog crap is better than Biden and I have said many times I will vote for Trump or any Republican over Biden.
