If you are conservative, there is ZERO reason to vote trump over DeSantis. None.

Trump supported both Clintons, for decades, and even said Hillary was a good SecState. That was before he had to convince simps to vote for him. Notice she's not in jail.

Deep down, diehard Trump fans aren't really in this to make America better. They're not following him because they believe he's the wisest choice to guide our country.

This is all just entertainment to them. Its the latest evolution of Reality TV. Trump is the cool, unorthodox, anti-hero that's fun to root for and laugh at how he causes havok with the rest of the contestants. And he knows it. So he's playing the character they want to see because he knows it'll keep him on the show. That's all this is at this point.

The only folks "broken" are those that continue to support Trump no matter what he does... from ****ting on the 2A to being the buffoon that went from "locking up crooked Hillary" to "beautiful Hillary who's a friend"....

I haven't changed... seems that Trump and his lemmings have though.

ETA - sorry, posted this on wrong thread... but it's still accurate so I'm leaving it here too

I'm 100% desantis. That's why I don't like these posts. It in accurately portrays what trump said and only serves to further the narrative that any negative press against him must be fake news.

Trump announces he's buddies with Newsome and now Hillary!!! WTH !! Maybe Trump is getting dementia too. After all he and Biden are around the same age.

Its time for some new blood. People that KNOW Hillary and Newsome are not friends of the American Republic

Sorry but I am so freaking tired of the "one rule for Trump, another for everyone else". He's going out of his way to demonize DeSantis and other Republicans while praising Democrats because he is playing games. Does he really love Hillary? No, but he doesn't hate here either. It's all games with him. If you like him he likes you. If you are against him no level of personal attack is too low. Then he flip flops back and and forth.

It's just exhausting and old. It's like freaking Idiocracy and he loves it.

$$ is moving over to Scott and potentially Christie.

DeSantis is a robot. He's done. Donors are retreating in droves.

That's legit the worst take I've seen on here in months, and that's saying A LOT.
At first I thought the same thing, then I read this on twitter. Took me to politico

https://www.politico.com/news/2023/07/13/top-donors-tim-scott-00106062

Quote:

With Ron DeSantis stalling in the Republican presidential primary, some wealthy donors who'd hoped he could beat Donald Trump are now giving Tim Scott a serious look.

Billionaire businessman Ronald Lauder, the Este Lauder makeup heir who supported Trump in 2020, recently flew to South Carolina to meet with Scott, the state's junior senator and longshot presidential candidate, according to three people aware of the late June meeting.

that article literally means nothing- even if true. Lauder could be supporting both Scott and DeSantis

and after Scott was torched by Tucker and did poorly at the Iowa Family Matters debates friday I doubt Lauder or any other big wig is giving him much money.

DeSantis leads in money raised- beating Trump in the second quarter.

"The best quarterly fundraising totals beyond Trump and DeSantis came from two longshots who threw in substantial shares of their own funds.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum put $10.2 million into his own campaign while bringing in $1.5 million in donations,

while biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy added another $5 million of his own money this quarter while raising $2.3 million from donors."

DeSantis' super PAC Never Back Down is slated to report raising $130 million since forming earlier this year when it files its first FEC report later this month.

That sum includes more than $80 million raised by DeSantis as a gubernatorial candidate in Florida.

That means Never Back Down is building a shadow campaign with which DeSantis' operation can't officially coordinate but will be counting on to deliver as the candidate scales back his staff.

To be objective there are at least 3.

Foreign policy under Trump was outstanding. The economy and direction of the country up until Covid were excellent. He followed through on his Supreme Court appointments.

I have no problem recognizing the good things Trump did and I think pretending like he didn't do some very good things is counter productive. That said, DeSantis is a far better option because he will do everything Trump did well plus a lot more and most of all he can win.

Excellent answer by DeSantis here on attacking Trump. He makes it clear he will hit on policy but he thinks personal attacks are counterproductive. Then he gives solid examples.

I would say that any Republican who claims that Cuomo and Newsome are better than the Governor of Florida, and that now Hillary is a pal-

should automatically be stricken from the party.

no actual conservative would ever say such things!

Completely agree... Trump did some great things as president and I appreciate him for them. But I'm also objective enough to see the things I didn't think were great as well as recognize his age. Acknowledging those things apparently makes one TDS infested as you aren't allowed to mention the gun, money, or attacking conservative policy **** ups of "the proven warrior."

That's a different question though. The question is why would someone vote for Trump that isn't based on emotion. You have to recognize those reasons and address them and also realize that many of those people will vote DeSantis if he can prove to them he will do better.

I could list the reasons not to vote for Trump for pages but it's important to focus on the reasons why people vote for him as well in order to convince them otherwise.

Trump made a mistake actually talking about how he will end the Ukraine War in 24 hours. Apparently his plan is he knows Zelensky well and likes him because he backed him on his "Perfect phone call" and he knows Putin even better. He's going to tell Putin that if he doesn't end the war he will give Zelensky a LOT more than we are giving him now. Uh, yeah I'm betting Putin will call that bluff considering Trump is going to have a hell of a time selling his supporters on how we need to go all in with Ukraine now because 4D Chess.

Trump used to have the right answer here which is not to reveal this level of tactics. Just no way this works well for him because now they can tear this apart and even if somehow he were to get in office he has basically told Putin he is bluffing.

Supporting Ukraine will now become the MAGA position.

Or they'll just ignore it and claim 64-D chess.

Edit: Looks like ignoring it will be the response. Cult45 central (FR) is deleting it every single time it is posted.

Wonderful. Hope that the maniac in Russia honors your request or more than double what we've already put into Ukraine. What a deal!

The "peace or we double down" strategy is going to be fun to hear him defend.

The real issue is he just said he will directly fix the conflict and that was the real mistake. He should have said he is going to pressure NATO to step up and tell Zelensky and Putin to find a deal because we are getting out. This isn't in our interests and we have a bigger problem at the border. We shouldn't care who controls what part of the Donbass and there is no "win" here because Putin isn't going to stop without major concessions and it is politically impossible to give him concessions. That is unless you basically say, "Yeah, that was the previous guy and this isn't something the US is going to focus our attention on".

Of course there are a 100 carrots he can put out there trade wise but fundamentally we shouldn't care any more about what Putin is doing in Ukraine anymore than we cared about Georgia or Chechnya. They aren't in NATO and they have virtually no strategic value to us.

He used to know that you keep your mouth shut on specifics like this and it worked great. He just threw away his leverage so he could make people think he is smart. He just proved he is losing it.
