BTW, if you would stop with the "laugh/cry" emoji at every response it would certainly enhance the conversation. It's just annoying and it takes away from any credibility you might have. I actually enjoy engaging with Trump supporters to discuss issues and politics but by doing that it is getting disrespectful. LOL at "serious" discussion. This is nothing but a Twitter recap of people that hate Trump. Most are BS that I've proven are just flat wrong, though I don't respond to most as I don't read most. I understand folks don't like when facts get in the way of their REEEEEING, but I can't help that.

Willing to bet Trump would have wanted a cut of the fundraising and DeSantis doesn't.NEW: Tennessee GOP secures @RonDeSantis as keynote speaker for its annual Statesmen’s Dinner on July 15th instead of Donald Trump. https://t.co/b8IiL8O3ZA
— Cryptid Politics 🇺🇸🐊 (@CryptidPolitics) July 10, 2023Quote:
Both of Tennessee's senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty have joyfully endorsed Donald Trump for president in 2024. Trump's current indictment by the Department of Justice does not bother them.
Seven of the eight GOP House members from Tennessee have also backed Trump. Tim Burchett, however, whose voting record has aligned with Trump, has so far declined to endorse Trump for president in 2024.
Former Gov. Bill Haslam is backing South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott. Former senators Lamar Alexander, Bill Frist and Bob Corker have not endorsed anyone for president, nor has Gov. Bill Lee.
Therefore, it was a surprise to learn that the Tennessee Republican Party secured Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the keynote speaker at its annual Statesmen's Dinner on July 15. He is Trump's principal opponent. Trump dislikes him and calls him Ron DeSanctimonious a childish cheap shot.
Trump is no doubt irked that his Tennessee congressional backers apparently were not able to prevent DeSantis from having this honor, which places him in front of key Republicans from across Tennessee. Or perhaps they did not know about it until after it was announced.

World has changed a LOT since 2016. Dems got serious about GOTV, ballot harvesting, fighting election laws, and funding the crap out of it. Most of that money comes from a handful of Dem Billionaires who know they can run anyone and win in a lot of races because they have the votes. I think that's fair. The problem also was in '16 he was going off an image of the GOP that was Bush followed by Dole followed by Bush II followed by McCain followed by Romney. When he announced his campaign, folks didn't "hate" him. They laughed at him. But he kept hammering home America first. Then, when in office, he did everything he said. He didn't succeed on every issue, but he fought hard for every issue.
And, he communicated these actions to the people. His press conferences were hours long. He went out and sold his accomplishments. This is why he got so many votes for President in 2020. More than any republican in history. A ton of democrats voted for him. He landed more minority votes than anyone. Labor unions, despite their constant hammering their members to vote against Trump, voted for him in droves.
So, to answer your question, in 2015, he was laughed at. In 2017, he was popular, way mor popular than in 2015. In 2020, he was insanely popular. Now? Can't answer that because he's so censored.
But, if he's hated more, it's not alot more.
I also think Biden has way, WAY less popular now than in the last election.
Selective posts from his Truth Social thing are what are being focused on. Very few are getting every post he makes there. Many don't hear his public events as they are not covered.Quote:

I think your mistake is thinking that all of Trump's votes were support instead of protests. There is very little you can do to change a protest vote. Call it a "never-Xer" vote. Trump benefited from that the first go-round with the "Never Hillary" vote, but now he suffers from the same problem. You can blame his loss on cheating, but it was never to the amount you think it was, and if he wasn't the problem child he is, he could have won despite the cheating. Some of his "never Trumper" problems come from the left, but some of it is self-inflicted. People are not going to "go to the polls in droves" for him, he is not doing what he needs to do to sway those people back. Instead he is doubling down on what made them "never-Trumpers" to begin with.Science Denier said:Trump was able to beat Hillary because he BOLDLY proclaimed he was for America first. When he's on the national media stage bringing his case is when he's very effective. I would suspect over half of his supporters don't even have Truth Social. I don't.

Where I think we disagree is the favorability of Trump to the general US population. I'll go on record as stating that if COVID didn't come along Trump would likely have won the 2020 election walking away - in other words he would have had too great a margin to be swayed by interference in AZ, GA, etc.
But even you acknowledge he might be more disliked now than in 2020. In your opinion its not by much; however, in my opinion its by a significantly larger margin. You're counting on people swallowing their dislike (sometimes hatred) of Trump to vote for him because the alternative will be Biden. But I truly believe Trump's too disliked now to win the majority of the voters no matter how bad Biden has been.
What'll make matters worse is that I don't believe Biden will be the Dem candidate. I believe it'll be Newsome. He'll distance himself as much as possible from Biden's policies and present himself as something different, and millions of gulliable voters will buy it.

What'll make matters worse is that I don't believe Biden will be the Dem candidate. I believe it'll be Newsome. He'll distance himself as much as possible from Biden's policies and present himself as something different, and millions of gulliable voters will buy it.
Trump and his America first will have a field day with that. You want America to be like this?
Desantis can have a field day with the Cali vs FL comparison, sure. But not Trump. Why? Because Trump is now on record praising Newsome. AND he's on record saying Cuomo in NY did the best job during COVID. Trump's already shot himself in the foot for a Trump v Newsome matchup.
There is nobody other than the most severe TDS affected individuals that won't vote for Trump based on that comment.Quote:

So keep talking about 16 all you want but this is about 24.
2020 was three years ago. It's over. There was fraud, just enough...in the right areas...to win the EC. That's over and done with and was possible because he's so unlikable.
This is for 2024 and he's done NOTHING to reverse the same thing from happening again. Yet Desantis has, and won, thusly. An actual conservative, that wins, and leads. The opposite of Trump.
1. Got a law passed in a local state with the support of the republicans that made up the majority
2. A president can't do that. Elections are controlled locally.
So, even if you believe DeSantis was the key in getting fair eledctions in Florida. he constitutionally can't do that at a federal level.
