She said that DeSantis received constant standing ovations and was mobbed after his speech, taking pictures with everyone who wanted one. The response to Trump was much more muted…
Oops. Another lie by team DeSantis. No wonder the TDS in this thread is all Twitter reeeeeeeing. Can't stand the scrutiny of even biased MSM filters.Again, another lie from you. I was there at the Marriott & people yelled I love Trump all over the room and some were saying they liked Desantis but that he does NOT have the same charm as Trump. It was mostly white older women and many with MAGA hats.

Lol that person has 48 followers and basically has no activity outside of an obsessive amount of replies, most recently to basically every Bill Mitchell tweet. Seems legit.
OMG, #NeverBack Down is destroying Trump fundraising!
— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) July 6, 2023
"Never Back Down, the super PAC supporting the Florida governor's presidential run, in a separate announcement told Fox News that they've hauled in $130 million in fundraising since the committee launched in early March."
how about you make ONE post on how it's the responsibility of GOP voters to educate themselves.FireAg said:
I believe DeSantis can appeal to the Trump Voting Bloc…I truly do…
However, I firmly believe that DeSantis's current strategy, and the tactics employed by his supporters (as evidenced on this thread) just ain't gonna do it…
Again, the DeSantis Camp MUST pull 10s of millions of votes away from Trump…and so far, no matter what the reason, they aren't yet making any gains in that regard…
So something has to change.
Fox NewsQuote:
Never Back Down CEO Chris Jankowski spotlighted in a statement that the "$150,000,000 raised from across all 50 states between DeSantis for President and Never Back Down shows what a formidable movement is behind Governor DeSantis. The future of the Republican Party is Governor Ron DeSantis."
A significant portion of Never Back Down's fundraising - roughly $82 million - was money transferred to the super PAC in June from a Florida based political committee affiliated with the governor. The funds were originally raised to support DeSantis' 2022 gubernatorial re-election.
Same here. Been looking but my limited ability to search twitter (since I'm cheap and not an account holder) is making finding video of the actual speeches and reactions nearly impossible for me.Quote:

So then by that math DeSantis still raised over double what Trump did ($150 mill minus $82 mill=$68 mill, Trump raised $35 mill and had a full quarter to only half of one for DeSantis since announcing). DeSantis had a big edge to start and now is greatly expanding that edge while Trump is blowing through cash on lawyers.aggiehawg said:Fox NewsQuote:

POLITICS DeSantis had $150 million announced in second quarter
Inside Ron DeSantis' Donations That Crushed Donald Trump's
BY NICK REYNOLDS ON 7/6/23 AT 6:02 PM EDT NEWSWEEK
Ron DeSantis might still be lagging behind Donald Trump in the polls. His fundraising, however, is another story.
According to numbers first shared with Fox News Thursday, the DeSantis campaign reported raising a massive $150 million haul between his campaign and his affiliated Never Back Down political action committee, far exceeding the $35 million reported by the Trump campaign earlier in the week.
Though DeSantis still lags in most national polls, that sum, Never Back Down CEO Chris Jankowski said in a statement after the release, "shows what a formidable movement is behind Governor DeSantis," demonstrating that the "future of the Republican Party is Governor Ron DeSantis."
For comparison, Vivek Ramaswamyanother candidate in the raceseeded his campaign with $10 million of his own money, while figures like Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy reported raising just $6 million in second quarter fundraising numbers shared with the press after the Federal Elections Commission's June 30th close of books deadline.
Meanwhile, Tim Scott, one of the strongest fundraisers in the U.S. Senate, reported a total of $21.9 million in its account as of March 31, raising just $2 million in his campaign's first 24 hours after launching in May.
However, DeSantis' fundraising volume, while impressive, comes with an asterisk.
Of the $150 million raised, $130 million reportedly came from Never Back Downan organization that already reportedly had $500,000 in the bank prior to DeSantis' decision to enter the race. Of that $130 million, some $82.5 million of the organization's account balance came directly from a controversial funds transfer from an account DeSantis previously used to finance his gubernatorial bids in Florida.

Whenever someone gives you that kind of money they're expecting a return on their investment
Nobody loves the country that much to just give money without some benefit.
I don't feel this makes the desantis stronger I think it makes him weaker. Because we all know he's being enslaved to the establishment

Lol we haven't even had one debate yet, and your orange hero will either 1. Skip the debates because he's a coward. Or 2. Allow a national audience to see that he's become an even more unhinged sideshow clown.

I agree about the benefits of open debates, but sadly I don't think it's going to happen. Debates these days are nothing more than social media fodder due to biased questioning and moderation. Not enough candidates are "pinned down" with nuanced questions or poignant follow up questions.
