That's exactly how I remember it. I got the sense that Trump didn't want her, but couldn't bring himself to endorse the same person as Desantis.

The people that got him elected are the working class. They don't support things like 100% ban on abortions, including rape and incest and as many foreign wars as possible. I know to the TDS this represents a position left of Biden, but this is what they support. Hell, Trump actually managed to defund planned parenthood, but he's still a left wing nut job to those with the worst cases of TDS.

These people that elected Trump do also support his actual track record at successfully executing policies such as lower taxes, a secure border, energy independence and US being strong overseas. They also don't believe in grooming children and the long list of things conservatives do believe in.

But, that's not satisfactory to the TDS. TRUMP IS A HUGE LIB!!! REEEEEEEEE

If that's true then why did trump endorse the female Mitt Romney to head the RNC? Romney is the epitome of the establishment rino.

Dhillon was going to revolutionize the republican party around grass roots blue collar issues and embracing mail in ballots and vote harvestings to beat the democrats at their own game. Trump endorsing Romney was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Quote:

But Trump stayed neutral in the race for RNC chair, stating that McDaniel and Dhillon should "fight it out." On Friday, he congratulated McDaniel on her "big WIN" in a post on his Truth Social platform.

This is misleading. McDaniel was on the ropes and momentum was shifting against her. DeSantis came out and endorsed Dhillon. Then everyone was waiting on Trump. When he went "neutral" it was a fait accomplit that she would win because it was going to take both DeSantis and Trump coming out against her to defeat her and the GOPe. I followed it VERY closely in real time listening to folks like Charlie Kirk who is a HUGE Trump guy and was at the convention. Trump also had himself in a pickle because Mike Lindell was foolishly running though he had zero shot and took a few votes from Dhillon, Trump would have had to have a tough call with My PIllow Guy to NOT endorse him openly. Trump's "non endorsement" was all McDaniel needed and the Swamp rats in the RNC just voted for their continued fat lifestyle and consultant deals.

Any way you slice it though, Trump endorses Dhillon and she wins. The opportunity was right there and he balked and it was also pretty evident that McDaniel have him concessions under the table in regards to future debates and primary scheduling and the many other ways the RNC can shift the game. It's an easy to see farce with anyone who knows how politics works. Don't forget that McDaniel was Trump's original pick as the head of the Michigan GOP back in '16.

Typical Trumpster lie.

There are Trump supporters including people here who have publicly said they will not vote for DeSantis if he is the nominee.

You can find others around the Internet. Free Republic has a huge number of Only and Forever Trumpers who hate DeSantis more than they hate Biden or any other Democrat. They would rather see the country burn than anyone but Trump win.

To hate Desantis to that degree, because of their feelings towards Trump, really is cultish. Maybe someone can think of a better word, but that's the only thing I can think of to describe that level of loyalty.

Trump supporters don't care if they win or lose as long as they get to vote for him. It is absolutely a cult following not seen in the US at least in recent memory.

To the original quote in this that 100% of Trump supporters will vote for Desantis but not the other way around, that's not exactly true. Rapier made that point well. But the missing link is there are a LOT of Biden voters that only vote for Biden because of Trump.

I think they are both underdogs, but DeSantis has a much, much better chance to beat Biden.

You don't know why he's attacking DeSantis? He's his opponent (maybe), and he's identified a difference in positions that can be exploited to capture more votes. Calling Trump pro abortion just shows how little you understand on what he actually did.
Trump said 6 weeks PLUS exceptions is "Too Harsh". Spin all you want but that is a "Pro Abortion" position. He is literally saying that not only should abortion be legal but it needs to go beyond 6 weeks plus exceptions. He hasn't even defined what that limit is either. 10 weeks? 15? Who knows. All we DO know is he thinks that abortion should be legal BEYOND 6 weeks and exceptions. That is "Pro Abortion" regardless of whether it is politically savvy. Trump also is someone that has "evolved" on abortion multiple times in his life so he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.

No, he didn't. Remember the REEEEE when Trump claimed Soros didn't say he wanted DeSantis to win, but said he wanted Trump to run as 3rd party? Even though Trump won't run as 3rd party unless he loses, he never outright said he wanted DeSantis to win.

Here is what Trump actually said on abortion
Quote:

"He signed six weeks, and many people within the pro-life movement feel that that was too harsh," Trump told the Messenger website, while declining to say whether he personally supports or opposes the legislation.
Trump did what he said he would do. Defund planned parenthood and got Roe vs Wade overturned with his SC nominations. It's up to the states to determine what restrictions, if any, will be put on abortion.

DeSantis built a very real and very strong organization in FL. He's up almost 800k GOP Net Registrations in 5 years there because of his agenda and grass roots. How can DeSantis have an attack ad out on Trump if he's not announced yet? Thought you had to officially announce if you are buying campaign ads.
This is where you really should take a second before you post something and show you have no clue what you are talking about.

An interview with Jim Acosta and Al Franken saying DeSantis is running an attack ad and you just jump right in it. Ok, well anyone with any knowledge of modern politics knows that a PAC is able to do basically anything but an official campaign is very limited. This was "Never Back Down" which is DeSantis' PAC. It's not illegal or unusual in any way.

I mean do you really think Acosta and Franken are suddenly honest brokers?

Let me throw some more actual facts out there.

Trump already built the base. Nobody worked harder to do it than him to build his base. Nobody. He was constantly all over the country building his base during the 2016 campaign. And, he did it with the media throwing out lie after lie. But, Trump took it to them and turned their "fake news" narrative around on them. And, continued to successfully build his base. In 2020, dude got more votes than any republican in history. Oh, did I mention he accomplished this with the FBI focused 100% on him, and the RINO's in DC impeaching him, twice?

Yea, DeSantis accomplished this in the small area of Florida. And I'm sure he had a bit of media to deal with. But ne's not done anything comparable to what Trump did.

Fundraising for others? Seriously? Crap like this is why I continue the laugh/cry face. It's just stupid. Look at all the candidates Trump fundraised for. Out on the trail actually working for others. And not just a few races in his home state. Nationally. As in working his ass off traveling around the country.

Ever since he made that statement every person of note in the Pro Life community has disagreed with his statement. Trump gets credit for his actions as President but that statement showed it has never been about a principled position on being Pro Life but about political expedience for him. Trump would sell out on abortion in 2 seconds if he thought it was politically beneficial to him.

There is simply no world where 6 weeks plus exceptions being "too harsh" is a Pro Life position. It is a Pro Choice position. That's ok but it literally is the definition. Dobbs set no limits on restricting abortion outside of Life of the Mother which has never been in question.

In the end though Trump is definitely to the Left of DeSantis on abortion even if you think 6 weeks plus exceptions is "Pro Life" by some bizarre logic.

No I don't.

What does that have to do with the actual commercial? You don't need to listen to those two to see the actual commercial that was created.
You implied that there was something nefarious about DeSantis running the ad because he hasn't announced. It was his PAC not him. That's just how the game works. Posting Acosta and Franken to strengthen your argument is just not helping you.

Did you not see he phrased his response as a question? Yet you waste no time in accusing him of actually believing that crap Franken puts out.
He posted Acosta and Franken in a 7 minute video. Could have posted it many other ways.

If it's a states matter, why is his position on abortion so important?
Ask your boy Trump, man. I don't know why he is behaving like a braindead liberal and attacking Desantis for being pro-life and pro-freedom/anti-lockdown. Face it, Trump is a pro-abortion, pro-lockdown, fake "vaccine" pushing pimp. Had I known this is how he would have turned out, no way I would have been so excited to vote for him in 2020.

So he's a liar, got it.

He was pro lockdown though. And VERY pro-vax.

To be clear, Trump has ALWAYS been to the left of DeSantis' stance on abortion. Trump's focus has always been to take away federal funds from planned parenthood and overturn roe vs wade. being against unlimited abortions has always been his stance. Even when President, many criticized his stance on abortion. That was some of the attacks used against him back then.

This isn't some recent shift to the left.

TDS is real.

I'm not deranged when it comes to Trump. I'm deranged when it comes to giving any advantage to Dems seizing more power.

Trump is the tool they've used for 6 years to grab more power and will use again if he's the nominee. I'll do everything I can to make sure Dems don't have that tool anymore.

Trump was not a tool, he was a victim.
Good grief. Yes yes....poor Trump. Victimhood looks good on him. His entire campaign for '24 will consists of 'poor me' and 'stupid Desantis'. Pay no attention to him reversing course on some of his policies that got people to vote for him.

I see you have forgotten all the crap pulled on him. You are exactly what the Democrats are hoping for. You can hate Trump until you are blue in the face, but he's a victim of the swamp. Period. The Democrats set out to make him toxic and succeeded but through various illegal or unethical means.
Yes yes...its everyone else. Trump is the messiah and everyone who doesn't agree with him are heretics. Opinions and elbows. We'll just have to see it play out.

I asked the question. DeSantis has been very secretive about his expenses "campaigning" while not announcing. He got a law passed that his travels, even on state supplied transportation, are not subject to the public.

I didn't think, however, that he could have political adds run, even thru some PAC, which is why I asked the question.
