MAGA calls that "winning!"
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

We should be wondering who on God's Green Earth would be smart enough to be a good member of Trumps cabinet, but dumb enough to take the job.

The questions for those who support President Trump in the primary is this:

If elected, then what changes between Trump 45 and Trump 47?

Do we still get swamp monsters like Fauci, Wray, and Barr running things and running interference for Democrats? Or do we get a new President interested in reforming the system and changing the power of the unelected state for the good of this country?

Do we get a President who maintains his stance that government is a force for good in this country? Or do we get a reformed President who sees, as Reagan and others saw, that government is a necessary evil that must be limited?

I look at him and see that core JFK Democrat who continues believing in the Federal Government and those who run it, a man who believes those in the government in DC operate with good faith and will serve him.

We need someone who will challenge the government and those within it whenever they jump ugly against the Constitution and the American people.

We have that here in Florida. I would like to see that for us all in DC.

I would too…but doing so is going to take more from the candidate we want to make some noise…

Right now, he's losing the battle, and posting NBD tweets on TexAgs isn't going to reverse that trend…

People aren't paying attention to him…he needs to do something to get folks who worry more about "The Voice" results than politics to start looking his way…

Again…the gap is widening as we speak…that's fact…for better or worse…

With the leftist slant of the media and their desire to see Trump back as the nominee, the only way for Desantis to start grabbing headlines away from Trump like you want him to do is to start grabbing women by the *****, cheat on his wife, toss out juvenile rants on X, and start an "insurrection".

He's not going to win the "headlines" battle versus a Trump who uses his court cases as free propaganda (hey, Trump has every right and is smart to do so, I'll give him that). I agree with others that while yes, time is marching on closer to the primaries, to insist that these polls are anything other than paid-for campaign propaganda is being naive.

Then he's going to lose…I don't know what to tell you…

You simply cannot reverse inertia by being the better candidate (and he ABSOLUTELY IS the better one, make no mistake) and hoping folks look your way…

It sucks…but that's today's America…

If winning 2 Debates and leading his state through a Hurricane won't do it there isn't much else he can do. For now. It's going to be almost impossible to move those numbers until December and he needs Trump to make a mistake. Trump is literally running on polls, that's all he is showing. Maybe that wins it for him or maybe it shows just how vulnerable he is.

None of it makes sense though. Trump is stepping on his crank daily and DeSantis is crushing interviews and appearances daily. DeSantis is still fundraising and getting endorsements at a healthy clip. Trump is having to use accounting tricks to hide that his campaign is broke. The more mistakes Trump makes the higher his polls go.

People seem to want the clown show over a competent and mature leader who actually gets things done yet at the same time they will complain about the clown show. It's amazing.

This is main reason why I think (hope) the polls that FireAg loves to cite constantly are bs. We are still in a time when no one is really paying attention and Trump is still mostly hiding so no one knows how much he's declined. Once the actual primaries start I think there's a big opportunity for DeSantis to win Iowa given his ground work there and then use that momentum to consolidate the non Trump vote as the default option.

Again, all based on polls. Until there is something OTHER than polls to look at, I am having a hard time relying on one of the most manipulable "news" there is out there. I'll start to believe them when the results match them.

Actually the polls in '20 and '22 were terrible and that was polls right before the election not a year out.

Your example of trying to prove that Trump/DeSantis polls are legit because even less relevant DeSantis/Biden polls are bad is also flawed. It's especially flawed because the undecided vote between DeSantis/Biden is huge, at least 15%. DeSantis is likely to get 2/3rds or 3/4s of that as a young non incumbent. Still a poll for an election more than a year away is pretty meaningless.

Do you honestly think the DeSantis supporters on here are posting in an attempt to influence the opinions of millions of voters spread out across the nation?

Or are you conflating our posts with the actual DeSantis campaign strategy?

The post above makes no sense and is just lashing out at a difference of opinion.

The upcoming debates and especially the DeSantis/Newsom debate are probably the best opportunities in the next few months. That said I doubt we see much movement on the top line. Also DeSantis could use a few of the also rans dropping out or at least dropping off the debate stage.

It is noteworthy that DeSantis consistently is seen as the most likely alternative to Trump and has maintained very high favorables. He's still got a lot of money and is drawing crowds. It's just whether or not something catches fire but he has laid down the kindling if it does. Maybe that fire never starts, maybe it does. We will see.

You can continue to attempt to rationalize the polls in hopes of making yourself feel better about DeSantis's current status in the polls, but it doesn't change the reality at this time...

He is getting trounced right now, and the trend arrow is pointing down, 3 months from Iowa...

The ONLY way he is the R nominee next November is is something happens to Trump...by hook or by crook...

It's that simple, unfortunately...

Lashing out at a difference of opinion is what posters have been doing to me and a handful of others since before DeSantis even joined the race, and I was pointing out that he had a very uphill battle to reverse Trump inertia based on the polling at that time...

And folks clamored to remind me that I was looking at polling that was trash because he hadn't even entered the race yet...

And then he entered with a resounding thud, and as never recovered...

Lashing out is what has happened to folks like me for pointing out the facts of the situation, however unpopular, only to be rebutted with "you're just a Trumpet, and part of the cult!"

I have kept it real and fact-based this entire time...again, you may not like how this is unfolding, but you can't change it by sitting here posting pro-DeSantis and anti-Trump stuff all day long...

The inertia is infinitely greater than many of you have wanted to admit...

Lol, first, sure just gloss over the part of my statement where I said "influnece the opinions of millions of voters spread out across the nation".

No. No one here is trying to influence the race to that extent.

Second, I love, LOVE a Trump supporter claiming that the motives behind pro-Desantis posts on here are "not flattering". Wow, the irony, just wow, lol.
