The good thing about ruling by EO is the next person in office just undoes it.

That's what we all thought until Trump tried to undo Obama's EOs (many of them illegal, like the dreamer program basically using prosecutorial discretion to say we aren't going to enforce immigration law for a whole class of people (not just on a case-by-case basis)).

The Dems tied up several of the reversals in court cases saying Trump was motivated by racism. If I recall correctly, they won some of those cases in lower courts and tied up reversal long enough to get Trump out of office.

On the other hand, Dems can always reverse Republican EOs.
Correct, district court injunctions against Trump EO's (or rescission of previous EO's by the Kenyan One) were unprecedented and despicable, alike.

Any future non-CCP endorsed candidate must anticipate a similar response from the Obama/Biden judges we now face, as a people. The Democrat party is an enemy of the constitution.

Congress is free to pass legislation to scale back the EPA's regulatory powers involving vehicles but they have chosen not to do so
What the **** HAS congress done in the past 20 years?

The Affordable Care Act in 2010 which now has a 62% approval rating
So your average citizen has become numb to the disaster that is Debaclecare.

I'm still waiting on my $2,000 savings.

This is one of the reasons I bit the bullet and bought a Corvette C8. The age of the great V8s is going to be ending due to the "climate crisis" and I want to enjoy it as long as possible.

Red Barchetta proving to be prophetic.

My uncle has a country place
No one knows about
He says it used to be a farm
Before the "Motor Law"
And on Sundays I elude the eyes
And hop the turbine freight
To far outside the wire
Where my white-haired uncle waits
Jump to the ground
As the turbo slows to cross the borderline
Run like the wind
As excitement shivers up and down my spine
Down in his barn
My uncle preserved for me an old machine
For 50 odd years
To keep it as new has been his dearest dream
I strip away the old debris
That hides a shining car
A brilliant red Barchetta
From a better vanished time
We fire up the willing engine
Responding with a roar
Tires spitting gravel
I commit my weekly crime
Wind in my hair
Shifting and drifting
Mechanical music
Adrenaline surge
Well-weathered leather
Hot metal and oil
The scented country air
Sunlight on chrome
The blur of the landscape
Every nerve aware
Suddenly ahead of me
Across the mountainside
A gleaming alloy air car
Shoots towards me, two lanes wide
I spin around with shrieking tires
To run the deadly race
Go screaming through the valley
As another joins the chase
Drive like the wind
Straining the limits of machine and man
Laughing out loud with fear and hope
I've got a desperate plan
At the one-lane bridge
I leave the giants stranded at the riverside
Race back to the farm
To dream with my uncle at the fireside

The electric generation and distribution infrastructure aren't there and I believe won't be there in time for this attempt at government manipulation of markets to actually work. Not to mention the batteries nor the re metals for the batteries .

This will likely end ugly for someone or maybe everyone but I think the demise of ic engines and gas / liquid hydrocarbon fuels is well overestimated. If the tech changes and the capabilities are there to make this happen due to market forces then that's good but you can't put a time frame on tech and manufacturing advances. It must be primarily market driven to work imo.

Good thing our adversaries also control most of the raw materials to even manufacture EV components.

Couple this with a dollar whose hegemony is being challenged hard - going to be some interesting times.

Precisely. None of this is even being discussed much less worked on. There is no way our present grid can support the number of EV's that they want to push down our throats.

Plus building the grid we would need requires a lot more natural gas and coal plants and the production of those fuels. Solar and wind will not get us there even on sunny and windy days. Just not possible.

What we are doing is beyond stupid.

This is stage 1

Subsequent stagers will involve the inability to drive and operate your own vehicle. All routes pre-programmed in before departure. All movement controlled by the car and tracked in real-time. It also makes billions for the auto and technology industries.

There is not enough lithium to replace every American car. EVs are not the solution unless some new battery technology that relies on common materials is invented. Any rare earth metal battery is not a solution.

Pretty soon you won't be able to buy a car for less than 60k. EV's are expensive and supply+demand will send gas powered car prices through the roof.

I love this quote from the article:

"Even if the infrastructure is in place, consumers ultimately have to be willing to adopt electric vehicles, which means companies will also have to be able to maintain reasonable vehicle costs."

By 2030, the socialist government that we'll probably have in place at the time will just subsidize the EV market with everyone's money to make this transition smoother. No politician really cares about spending money so they just do it. They'll also probably adopt another Cash for Clunkers plan like a previous poster said.

Hey we can't run out of money! We can just print more

This is also about pricing most people out of the vehicle market and into public transportation.

Once you're forced to reply to a bus, subway, or train to get you everywhere in town, your freedom has been drastically curtailed. You no longer have freedom to go anywhere you want, when you want.

This has always been one of the left's primary goals.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

This. The long game has always been to move the peons to mass transit and 15-minute cities. They are religious zealots thinking that their totalitarianism is justified to save the planet. There is literally no amount of human suffering that is too far so long as it forwards their agenda.

And why do they want us all to move to the mass transit cities? Because the big cities transition into dem voting strongholds is inevitable and once it happens then the Republicans will never be able to win a meaningful election. They don't want us off the roads. They want our freedom and to institute a defacto one party rule.

This is what was published for the first stage, starting in MY 2027 for light and medium duty vehicles. Its well over 700 pages long, so its a bit of a read.
