Yep. I have three teenagers who play sports and Nikes are forbidden. It makes shoe shopping more difficult, but we always find a suitable substitute.

This still seems stupid, but is in no way the same as what BL did. Nike is paying a "influencer" who like it or not does have a huge reach, specifically of young people deciding what styles of clothes to wear, to advertise to their audience which is relatively guaranteed views. If not for news stories about it, the Nike "ads", which are just normal content on DM's channel, wouldn't ever reach anyone who cares.

BL took a product that a much smaller segment of this persons reach is interested in, and should have known would largely piss off their main core customers, and made a national campaign about it.
