Saw that, and am not suprised. Those 2 years without Turnpike was a world that a lot of people did not want to live in. Now that they are back together.... ticket prices....sheesh! My brother saw them a couple months ago and said they haven't lost a step at all in their live shows.

Also, my kids (6 and 7) think Kyle Nix won a golden fiddle on a bet with the devil in Georgia.
I saw them in Vegas. Incredible show. Borderline religious experience.

They're awesome.

I remember seeing Kacy Musgraves several years ago in this awards show being vocal in support of LGBT rights.
Country died in the early to mid 90's, about the time that Garth Brooks became the face of the genre.

With the exception of a very few artists and songs, what gets spit out of Nashville these days is whatever exects in New York tell them to spit out. One of the local radio hosts here (Kenny Webster of Walton & Johnson) did an overlay a few years back of the top 5 "country" songs. They all were almost exactly the same in tune, beat and lyrics. It was sad really.

I mean...Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line are among the top of the class. That should tell you everything.

I have always felt you could trace the death of country music too the release of Shameless. When a Billy Joel cover became a generational hit, country completed the pivot that was slowly happening already.
