I wrote a little song for y'all.
This looks like every song out of Nashville for the last 10 years...
Thought it might have been from the same guy that sings the pontoon stuff...

Isn't it ironic - that Alanis looks to be the most conservative one of them (pun intended)No Spin Ag said:
Okay, so last I checked, Alanis Morissette isn't country, yet there she is on stage with women wearing ****ty outfits singing with her. Not complaining about the outfits, just surprised they were backing a woman who is as much a country singer as Mary J. Blige.

surprised I'll be the first one to say it.
this isn't real country music, so you shouldn't be surprised.

The days of George Strait , Alabama, Alan Jackson, Clint, Black Shanandoah, Keith Whitley T Graham Brown, Doug Stone are long gone
I recorded this just to hear the Skynyrd tribute. Guess I can just fast forward through the rest of it.JSKolache said:
Skynyrd with Slash and Billy Gibbons, and they play a ballad. Wtf, plz fn rock this opportunity.
How so? Half the people on that list are currently on tour. So, not exactly long gone.Quote:

I don't country, but I do know that Lady Antebellum changed their name in support of BLM.Next Year is the Year said:
I just tuned into the CMT Music Awards while hanging out with my wife for the first time in a few years. All I can say is wow, I felt like I was watching the Oscar's with all the leftist political talk after someone got an award including racism, LGBT stuff, etc. We didn't make it through more than 6-7 minutes before changing the channel. I was surprised given who their audience typically is.
Maybe I haven't really paid attention but is that a new thing or has has the country music scene been like this for a while?

You also left off the country legends that lean left - Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton,
Country Music isn't entirely conservative anymore than rock is entirely liberal. They definitely lean in their own certain direction, but no ideology owns 100% of any music genre.
Why are conservatives so obsessed with labeling things liberal? The OP mentioned that they brought up racism at the Awards Show. Clearly, nobody came out pro-racism, so does saying something denouncing hate give you the scarlet letter of a "liberal" and you can't watch anybody else on that show because they are all just a bunch of socialists spreading this anti-racism propaganda....
I didn't know about it or I would have too, What song did they do?Buck Turgidson said:I recorded this just to hear the Skynyrd tribute. Guess I can just fast forward through the rest of it.JSKolache said:

It's sad, but even this part of entertainment hasn't represented their base's values in years. Just like NHL and MLB have turned the last few years, Nashville has bolted to the left in the pursuit of being accepted.
I don't listen to much mainstream country, but you could tell a few weeks ago that the left was beside itself when Morgan Wallen's album went up the charts. Screw CMT.

Weird that you haven't hung out with your wife in years, and even weirder that the thing you chose after those years of waiting was to watch that.
